Origins:
A brilliant but arrogant neurosurgeon who was renowned for his skills, Doctor Stephen Strange's career came to an end once his car veered off a narrow and wet road. Crashing on a nearby lake, Strange's hands sustained a serious nerve damage that made his ability to operate again unlikely and improbable.

Desperate to regain his old skills, Strange spent thousands of dollars on various experimental operations that may have been able to restore his hands but was never able to achieve more than a minor improvement in his condition. During this time, Strange was told about how a man in his near area was able to walk again after having been a paraplegic for years, this same man would later tell Stephen about the place that allowed him to be cured, Kamar-Taj.
At his lowest and with nothing to loose, Strange would eventually find his way to Kamar Taj on Kathmandu, Nepal after having been saved from a group of bandits by whom would soon be his rival and former peer, Karl Mordo.

Introduced by Mordo to the Ancient One, master of the mystical arts, a hesitant Strange would soon begin practicing the ways of the arcane by becoming, alongside Karl, the Ancient One's personal protege. During his months training on Kamar-Taj, Strange would soon become one of the most proficient magicians amongst the Order of Masters.
This would unfortunately, result on the jealousy of Mordo, eventually causing him on turning against the Order alongside a group of insurgents and pledging their allegiance to the being known as Dormammu, creating a short-yet-dramatic war ending on the death of the Ancient One and the protectors of the Sanctum Sanctorum.

However, Mordo would soon be defeated by Strange himself, while so and with the Ancient One on the verge of death, Stephen was named by him as his succesor as the new Sorcerer Supreme. Ever since, Stephen has resided on the Sanctum located in Bleecker Street, New York, alongside his assistant Wong, serving as our dimensions mystical protector.
