Secret Origins: Robbie Reyes was a young hispanic heritage mechanic working at Los Angeles, California, living alongside his paraplegic younger brother Gabe. Their neighborhood he lived in was plagued with gangs and corruption, making life difficult for him and his brother, Gabe, who looked up to him as a hero, eager to move to a safer neighborhood, Robbie entered a street race to earn fifty thousand dollars. Unbeknownst to him, the car he used was inhabited by a demon, that similar of those who once possesed many people and turned them into the Rider, as he was taking the lead, he was followed by whom he assumed to be the police. Worried about what would happen to Gabe without him, Robbie tried to escape, but inadvertently drove into a dead end. He left his car and attempted to explain himself to his pursuers, only for them to violently open fire upon him, killing him. They took an unknown substance that had been hidden in his car and attempted to burn the evidence, including Robbie's body. However, as they left, the demon possessed Robbie, transforming him into seemingly a new Ghost Rider, whom gave chase and managed to kill a handful of Robbie's attackers, though some of them got away.
''Eli'': As time passed and Robbie continued onto becoming into the Ghost Rider without his knoledge, a mysterious visitor entered Robbie's garage looking for him, this visitor was none other that one of the many Ghost Rider's that existed through history, Johnathan ''Johnny'' Blaze.
Johnny was looking for Robbie as the spirit that was possesing him was not the Spirit of Vengeance, but rather a demon spirit named "Eli'', a Satanic serial killer who murdered and dismembered at least 37 people in rituals before he was fatally shot by the police in 1999, and who lived in the house that the Reyes brothers took to living in and was killed by Blaze as the Rider.
Blaze transformed and attempted to cleanse Robbie of Eli's spirit, but however, he couldn't, as this was merely just a fragment of Eli inside Robbie, thus, Johnny sealed Eli onto Robbie's body, trapping him, though Robbie would be the responsable for keeping him there, however, Robbie could stil use the powers infused on him as the Rider, offering to Johnny to pass him the torch as the new Ghost Rider.
As the new Rider, Robbie is able to channel the spirit of Eli and turn into a seemingly blazing skull-like individual, gaining in the transformation, superhuman strenght, stamina, speed, durability, alongside the ability of Pyrokinesis, a enhanced healing factor, being able to turn vehicles into hellish-like versions of themselves and a short distance teleporation. However, unlike the many Riders before him, Robbie isn't able to use the Penance Stare due to not being connected to the Spirit of Vengeance, but actually being hurt by it due to the many sins caused by Eli.
