History: I woke up believing that not all humans were bad. Now, hear me out, I'm not saying that it's terrific and stuff that they're polluting space and earth with their trash, but those who have had their personal realm ruined or even touched by the people are filled with blind rage. That's not the case with me. I woke up in Castelia City, while it was just being founded, on the edge of the forest there used to be there. And just seeing the stars and moon shine down on the small civilization as the humans went on, building their homes with mud or wood helped me see how they worked. They didn't stop when they wanted something, even when a landslide demolished half of their "town", those who hadn't had their homes destroyed helped the others. I thought that all humans were nice like that, especially when they discovered music. At first it was just sticks hitting the ground or each other at an even pace. Strings were plucked along with the rhythm, or people would start vocalizing, singing. Their music was so simple, yet so good, that
you just wanted to join in and have fun like everyone else.

So, one day, hidden in a tree, I sang along with them.

They seemed to be stunned at first, and then followed my lead. We had a great time back then, just the town and I. Pretty soon they were wondering who I was. Was it Lucian, the baker's son? Nope. Nathaniel, the new young priest? Nope. After that, they knew I was something special, something new. Like a pokemon. They drew me, only they got my hair all wrong, a mint green that fell around my shoulders. Not that I was going to show them what it was like. I knew enough to hide, and eventually, the city grew. Others came, the music eventually slowed down, then stopped, as the humans grew busier and busier. Eventually, they even stopped telling the stories of the "Guardian" of Castelia City. Not that I cared, because their new inventions were astounding! Skyscrapers, cars, bikes, music players, the list went on and on. Eventually, I began stockpiling these items. A couple cars, a brick from a skyscraper, a touchscreen phone, all the good stuff. I began to charade as one of the humans, wearing a dark coat and a huge turban, a fake nose and some glasses. They called me Gio at the cafe I worked at, and I sang. Oh arceus, how I sang. I poured my heart out every night, to the regulars at the coffee shop. I sang of times old, I sang like I used to, back in the day when everybody would get together and bang sticks and drums. They called it a "Relic Song", and I practically lived at that shop. I got paid, I got an apartment. Eventually, though, the good days ended. The cafe went under foreclosure, and was replaced by some dirty nightclub. I didn't have an income anymore, and I got booted out of my apartment, sold everything I had, and I went to the highest skyscraper in the city, and looked down at the place I once knew. I sang goodbye, and I walked away, I walked for longer then I could remember. Then I found the grotto that had the darmitans, and I smiled.
And I sang.
