Description
Nothing too special here. First drawing of my Lilith in this style. For once she looks her age, which is teen rather than loli!I tried getting a cinematic feel to the drawing, I think the most important thing to achieve that is to get a good atmosphere with the lighting (which I don't feel I'm very good at yet), having a wide canvas can also help.

Awesome, I've always been striving for this style of color and shading. I love it when anime styleΒ and realism can be blended so naturally.

Thanks man!
Yeah I agree, I also love when anime drawings got this kind of coloring to them. But, I have to be careful so as not to over detail the face since I don't draw in a realistic style.

hat's what I find is the hardest part. Integrating anime character designs that are usually very simple and elegant are very difficult to blend with hyper-realistic backgrounds. My current WIP is proving to be very difficult for that reason. I tend to want to put too much detail into the faces and then it ends up looking messy and unnatural. It's tough to balance anime simplicity with artistic scenery.

Yeah. My suggestion is to focus on getting the colors and values right for the character so that it's in harmony with the background.
If you have a non-realistic anime style like me, keep the face somewhat simple when you're shading, and detail the body and clothes a bit more instead.

Thank you!
I was worrying it might be too much detail, I'm glad you like them.

The lighting looks amazing, and I feel you have mostly achieved what you were looking for. All though when I hear the word "cinematic" I imagine something a bit darker.
The shading on the background and your character are always nice.
Keep on drawing! (*^β½^*)

This is a really awesome and interesting twist to your style! Her eyes are very striking.
I love it
Also, on a slightly unrelated note, I couldn't help but notice your "Beach Fun" drawing is no longer here. Howcome?

Thank you so much! Glad you like it!
Yeah, it's gone. DA is so sensitive with that kind of content (yes, even something that neutral) and it didn't really represent my drawing style anyway so, I decided to get rid of it.
But no worries, in the future if I do draw more I will submit similar stuff to my pixiv instead!

Awwhhh
Ah, well. That's fair enough
Yeah, you're totally right about DA. The amount of hate I've seen on here towards art with characters like that in it is ridiculous. It seems unless you draw a character with enormous boobs and long hair you'll always get one guy saying "duude she looks like 6 omg".
Awesome!!! Β I tried to find your Pixiv though but I couldn't

Hehe believe me, I've discussed this a lot with other artists.
Ah, yes, here's my pixiv pixiv.me/novcel or is it better to share my id? id: 13586955
I'll start uploading soon, starting from when I changed my art style. I'm currently working on a drawing that I think will have 2 versions, one of them will be exclusive to my pixiv.
I have never used pixiv before so I'm not sure how tags work there or how to upload several drawings as one. Also, do they have a group system there like DA or does the tags handle that?

Ah, awesome!
I'll follow you on there! Although be warned if you ever look at my profile that there's stuff that doesn't go on here for obvious reasons so I do apologize if it's a little extreme
I look forward to seeing your uploads!
Oh, yes. Pixiv is really a lot more English-friendly now than it used to be (even the spotlights are in English, too). You can use English tags, but I think that using Japanese tags may get yourself found in searches more. Personally, I have a list of Japanese tags I use for tagging my own drawings (it also remembers the tags you've used, so if you're really used to them you can just click them if you remember them).
There is a tab on the submit page that allows you to upload multiple images. It's called 'manga', but people often just use it for multiple image uploads. Edit: Actually scrap that - I just realized you can just select multiple images as a normal upload and it becomes an 'upload multiple images'. I have to say, it's really a nice feature to have.
I believe there are groups but to be honest, I haven't really looked into it. Personally, I've found that stuff you upload can be popular/noticed without bothering with them (and I find it easier, anyway). There's a section on your homepage for new work from everyone, so you'll probably find your stuff will be noticed quite quickly.

Oh don't worry about it, I'm not bothered by that. I'm an artist after all.
I see. Thanks a lot for the help man!
