Description
For NationStates; Modeled in DoGa from regular parts and with a regular (lots of fiber) background.----
The little cousin to the much, much larger Typhoon Super-Heavy Grav Tank, the Tsunami takes most of its visual design from its enormous uncle; Two long pylons that house the anti-gravity systems while a central structure with the main reactor in the rear is topped with a multi-role turret. The difference is in the purpose with the Tsunami engineered around carrying soldiers into battle while the Typhoon is designed to engage other armored platforms, aircraft, and the occasional passing spaceship. Equipped with a vertical drop system, it can quickly deploy its entire complement with a typical mix being ten REDSHIRT units, four GhostDragons, and two Valkyrie powered armor systems. That does establish the Tsunami as relatively large, though significant space is saved by utilizing the vertical drop system. They are also provided with both an Eien-Gestalt Node as well as a package of default individual engrams, allowing all units to be deployed as different specialties as needed. Most often this is used to provide various non-combat expertise, such as medical services, engineers, or even diplomatic personnel.
To aid in combat, the Tsunami is fast - able to keep up and even pass the Typhoon at a flat run. Primary armament is an autonomous-capable particle cannon for engaging similar vehicles as well as all ranges of powered armor and low flying aircraft. Two medium repeaters are mounted akimbo to the cannon and can engage medium powered armor and all infantry, as well as light aircraft and light vehicles. A pair of elevated light particle emitters are typically tasked with point defense - capable of shooting down most conventional projectiles and missiles - while two micro-missile pods mounted on the pontoons allow for area saturation. To put a not-so-fine point on it; The Tsunami would be considered very expensive outside of the Republic. A hull-only version is avaliable for export to interested parties in reasonable alignment to the Republic. As an additional note, the Mk II Tsunami (pictured) is also the first complete system to carry the RDF designation as the Defense Force increasingly adopts the 'Republic Defense Force' moniker.
