The Outer Systems Alliance's 'Henchman'-Type BattleMech would be their first bipedal humanoid warmachine and ultimately something of a flop though not a particular failure. Instead they would often find themselves attached to military police or garrison units where their abundance of short-range and heavy-hitting firepower wouldn't be counted as a deficit in an environment dominated by battles in open terrain. This would change - at least for a few months - after the Battle of Yniva City in the former Qi territories where a combined force of OSA and NPoY units would spend nearly three weeks fighting through the ruins of that city rooting out sympathizers to the former religious regime. Here the 'Henchman' would prove its value in the kind of brutal, close-in combat that it was designed for.

Two medium 'shotgun'-type autocannon are mounted on each arm and these are supported by two short-range missile bays in the chest, a medium launcher on the left shoulder, and a long-range launcher on the right that provides the 'Mech's only long-range punch. A single small pulsed laser emitter sits on top of the torso - this is meant mostly for cleaning out light infantry while the autocannons are presumed to be used for anything heavier in the fast-paced close combat environment. The 'Henchman' is moderately quick but agile, able to move through dense terrain with relative ease.

The 'Henchman' is not a new design. It is based on a 'Mech - the 'Thug' - built on the Hauyht homeworld of Alice before the Fall and their evacuation. Only one was constructed but the plans made it off with the retreating rabbits and eventually made their way into the hands of the OSA's BattleMech Design Division.
