That looks great! How large is it actually? And was Polycotylus the largest polycotylid?

Was about 5 meters long. Not sure, if it was the largest though...

That was smaller than I expected it to be. On this drawing of John Bindon it looks far larger (in comparison to the Pteranodon), at least 10 meters or so:

Hmm this is the mosasaur I was thinking of drawing yesterday. Couldn't arrive at the name.

Mosasaur? No, it's a plesiosaur...

I said mosasaur. How drunk must I have been. Polycotylus is a pliosaur specifically.

I need to brush up on sea births but I always thought they'd have the pod around, all that blood would attract sharks! D: Cute little dinosaurlet

Not a dinosaurlet, a plesiosaurlet... Dinosaurs never conquered the oceans.
Yes, you are right about the sharks.... How do the dolphins do?

Yes plesiosaur, I thought they were also a type of dino
From memory birthing dolphins have at least one other dolphin (if not the entire pod) with them while they're giving birth to help defend against potential predators. I don't know if I'm remembering correctly

Interesting... Dinos were all terrestrial creatures. Plesiosaurs, Ichthyosaurs, Mosasaurs are not dinosaurs, they are not even closely related. Pterosaurs aren't either. On the other hand, birds are dinosaurs. Time to refresh your paleontology 101 class

Spinosaurus, Hesperornis and penguins think otherwise.
