I think it looks marvelous, it doesn't really look like a cut-out because it gave me the sense of distance in between foreground and hill. Maybe could try to give the environment more pencil texture so it would look blended in? Also, shading should be more apparent in back since dragon is facing moon- not wings as it should remain semi-transparent enough for moonlight to pass through.
