Description
Disoriented, fluttering wordsspilling onto these pages
as night grows still deeper
and the light of day approaches.
Appreciate the power of words;
you won't know what you had
until you truly miss it, and
you wont miss it till it's gone.
Maybe for an hour, a day, a week,
but I swear it feels like years.
I miss the flow, the speed
the instant recollection.
It is difficult to write with a pencil
whose point has worn down, but
A dull pencil can be sharpened
and so can a dulled mind.
An inverse relationship exists
between "using it and losing it".
So we must remember to practice.
Sharpen that pencil daily.
One never really forgets just how
to ride a bike, and to write a poem.
It simply gets pushed to the back.
Buried under treasured refuse
that fills our minds.

Pip, thanks very much for not only the +fav and the comment, but the warm welcome back. It's a real relief to have written again, especially after so long without inspiration. Here's to keeping that pencil sharpened
