I always liked to think about how would the CMC grow. I've read many ideas and some fanfics, but most of them make the three young fillies into sucessful and/or standard ponies, or into 'heirs' of the mane6. Instead, I thought it would me interesting to keep them 'different' - each one of them had some problem with hormones in her puberty.

More exactly:
--Applebloom: the earthpony always wanted to be a big pony, to be treated as a big pony, to look like a big pony. She never thought, however, how big she would get, and all the problems with it. Applebloom is still a blankflank (she got so traumatized with it, some psicologists said, that she may never get one) but other problems and solutions appeared to her when she entered the pubberty.
While most ponies grew normally, she probably got Uncle Giant Delicious genes: first, she grew as tall as AJ. Then, higher than Applejack, even with her hat. She's now almost as tall, heavy and strong as Big Mac, making her VERY visible and specially clumsy. differently from Sweetie Belle, who developed early and attracted the eyes from every stallion, Applebloom quickly grew too big to be 'normal' or 'beautiful' on the standard way. She's not actually worried about it, however - at least something she learned with her 'cutiemark problem'.
--Sweetie Belle: the first one of them to gain her cutiemark, and also the first one to grow and develop, Sweetie turned from a rather shy and slow filly into a gorgeous, gregarious young mare. Her flanks attract attention of both colts and stallions alike, and her voice (her obvious talent) was on pair with it. She, however, kept rather naïve, despite the developed body, and she never fully understood how 'love' should work - her affairs were all with pretty, popular colts who eventually grown into deeper relationships with other ponies.
While the other ponies developed, however, Sweetie kept... growing. Her flanks turned from beautiful to gorgeous to unbelievable... to a little larger than they should. She's still putting on quite some weight, but she hasn't realised it at all. Her friends are quite worried about telling her it...
-Scootaloo: the little pegasus almost lost all her hopes of flying, when her wings refused to grew and to keep her still childish body over more than a few inches of the ground. Rainbow dash called to her the best speciallist on wings from Cloudsdale to help her number 1 fan, and the problem could't be less expected: scootaloo suffered from a rare pegasus desease that caused a delayed wing development, BUT kept the wings growing much further. Scootaloo barely heard about the other problems of the desease, like small stature and blood pressure problems: she would grow large wings. Huge wings, he said.
Just like dr. Featherstain said, a few months later her wings started to grow surprisingly fast and strong. Her training, when her wings were small, actually helped her to use her now oversized wings to be more easily controlled, and she quickly began one of the best and youngest flyers of Equestria - her small body and huge wings allowed her to go as fast and as high as she could ever dream... except for a smaaall problem: she frequently passed out during flight, due to her anormally weak heart. She hasn't even managed to finish the flying course, even though she broke the world record in two modalities of speed flight.
