Description
This old house still stands these days on the way to Tatamagouche, Nova Scotia, Canada. It is only about 70 years old, but looks quite a bit older.Related content

This house is so famous to people around that area..
I loved looking for it when I was younger..
Cause we have a cottage over by tatamagouche, so when we drive from Halifax to get there, that old house is always waiting
except recently.. damn it fell down :'(

Yeah, it was really sad when it fell down. I was hoping to get some more photos of it later on, but it fell down and that's it

Very similar to many houses I've seen in North Carolina when traveling south.. Nice shot.

Truly excellent shot.
the grey shades are gorgeous, the composition is well mastered, and it's very moody.
reminds me of another great shot : [link] by =greglief

I look at this picture and I wonder where dorothy went and whats real funny is that house about the same age as the movie. I really like the fact that the house is about to fall because it really adds to the action. Kind of wish I could take my own photo of it.

Only 70 years old? Wow... it does look (more than) quite a bit older! I love old/run down houses though. they have such a.. presence?... about them. And you have chosen a good angle to take the picture from.
What happened to this one, to have it become like this so quickly?

I think the weather conditions have made it like this. Actually, it has collapsed about a week or two ago.

I wanted to cry when I heard that! My aunt told me when it fell down-I've been wanting to shoot that house since I was a kid! *sob*
You did a wonderful job on it, though!

that house is really slanted like that?
wow.
I love old/rundown houses. Ever see Fight Club? I think that house is beautiful.
hehe, sorry I babble.

It's all good. And yes, the house in 'Fight Club' is definately impressive I wouldn't mind having a place like that for photo shoots. I like the modern/urban/nude type of portraits. It is a form of glamour I suppose, when it is a portrait
See, I babble too.

i was thinking the same thing. I would have loved to go there and take pictures.
hehe, random fact:
do you remember where brad pitt and edward norton were drunk, in the movie and hitting golf clubs? they really were drunk in real life and the golf balls were bouncing off the catering (?) truck.
I found that amusing.
those are the two things I think of first, when thinking of that movie.
and is that you in your icon? just wondering...

Yeah, I do remember them drunk It's a really really good movie. But one of my all time favourites is "American History X". And also, I adore Edward Norton as an actor.
And yes, it is me in the icon. It's a bit stretched - I waz lazy to crop the original so I just resized this one.

It was a really really good movie, but alas the ending was ruined for me before I saw it. I never saw American History X. Edward Norton is, indeed, a great actor.
i like it, that's why i was wondering. I barely noticed the stretch. Actually, I only see it because you said something.

I love this photo. It looks really great in black and white. The house looks like it's barely holding itself up.

There is only a fish-eye illusion as only a 28mm wide angle lens was used. The house actually does look like this. I can send you photos of it from a different angle.
