Description
This was one of the prices at our pony clubs autumn show. It was rewarded to the winner of the senior class dressage.Im really not sure if it is good enough to be given away as a price :S I would really love some feedback on this as I want people to feel as if they've actually won something that resembles the effort they put into it.
Drawn on watercolor paper with mech pencil
Time: aprox 7hrs

I do hope it's ok for me to post some feedback for you? It's not too in depth, but if you'd like more I'd be more than happy to give it.
This is a really lovely drawing! You have a beautiful grasp of shading, keep practicing and this will only improve! My only critique would be enhance the shading and details on the ears in particular, they look a little flat. You may have struggled with the paper?
A wee tip: watercolour paper can be really irritating to draw on due to the roughness of the surface, creating 'white dots' all over. (Watercolour paper is designed just for that, as it soaks up moisture better. ) Trying a smoother cartridge paper would be much more successful in terms of pencil work.
Or, failing that, invest in a blending pencil! (or 'blender') I find these invaluable. They take away the white dots you see though the paper. They work just as well on cartridge.
And of course it was worthy as a prize! You have some really lovely skills. Anyone should be grateful for recieving a hand drawn piece as a prize. Great, great work!

Thank you so much for taking time to write this! Im really grateful for all constructive critisism! Thanks!
Yeah I struggeled with the paper :S And I see your point with the ears. The thing is I havent been able to get any different kind of paper here so now this paper has sort of become my style. I tried blending with both blender and tissue but I felt that it became too smooth then. At least for horses. But im definately going to try it out when I get the new paper Ive ordered!
Thank you so much for the feedback!! Its really appreciated!
Thank you so much!!

It's my pleasure, glad I could help!
To be honest, I thought my criticism was a bit limp, haha.
Good luck with your future drawings! You have some very nice work.
