The picture is by an unknown Photographer, but the image was found in The Tree of Knowledge.
Its of inmates of the noutorius Auschwits concentration camp, in 1945.
The reason behind the drawing is mainly due to the current work I am looking into. Which would require alot of long winded explanation.

because of the way your capture emotion and depth in just a figure! its intense, especially in this piece!
it is also so difficult to draw portraits, not many can, but you have it down!
so there i win haha

This one is particularly spectacular, in subject matter, contrast and rendering.
-You never overdo your pieces, which can be easy to do when working from photography. Koo dos.
-You choose your photos well.

Thank you I always enjoy drawing images that bring the subject to the centre of attention, as well as appreciate the story a face and its surroundings can create a powerfull image!! I enjoy drawing items with meaning though this was a highly emotional peice to draw, especially the eyes, and i hope i could give it the justice it deserves.

I wonder if you could help me to find a (fairly) famous photograph from the Holocaust. The photo shows a jewish boy holding up his hands and in the background some Nazi soldiers.

Youβve really managed to bring out the emotion that emanates from these people. This drawing touches me very much. Your other drawings are very great too, but this one touches me particularly. Youβre very talented anyway.
(I want to apologize for my bad English. lol)

lols ok then thank you
and thank you for your answer
tis very usefull
but do you not find the white on black version harder hitting? or is it better pencil drawn on white paper?
your english is very good lols I apologise for my lack in other languages all together lmao
π: 0 β©: 1
NenyaUndomiel In reply to nuttyfool [2008-06-11 15:29:33 +0000 UTC]
I'm sorry but I can't get the meaning of "harder hitting". ^^' Do you mean the white on black version is more...I don't know how to say it in english...hum...more striking maybe? or more touching? Or am I not close at all? lol ...Am I comprehensible?? lool
π: 0 β©: 1
nuttyfool In reply to NenyaUndomiel [2008-06-11 20:18:22 +0000 UTC]
lols you got it in one sorry its more me using random terms
will make sure check what I am saying
I was more after the terms like striking, noticable and telling but sadly they didn't come to mind and yeh I get what you mean
lol
so yeh lmao what makes the pencil sketch more effective, than that of the white on black?
Am sorry I have picked you for these questions, if you feel like not answering I honestly don't mind
π: 0 β©: 1
NenyaUndomiel In reply to nuttyfool [2008-06-12 14:57:15 +0000 UTC]
No problem for questions, it doesnβt bother me^^.
To answer your question, in fact, I donβt really know. Itβs not easy to explainβ¦ for me I mean lol. In the pencil sketch, for my part, I feel more emotions from the man, more intense emotions: sadness, pain, exhaustion, but also anger, injustice. That's what I find poignant. In the white on black I feel only sadness and tiredness. I would not say that this drawing doesnβt touch me, not at all, on the contrary, but less. The pencil sketch revolts me more in fact, that's it. But everything is a matter of perception I think. ^ ^. Iβm not sure I've helped you? Or at least have answered your question? lol

ah cool thank you ahh kl kl thank you that is kinda what I was expecting really, cause I found the pencil sketch had more to it, than the white on black version
lols so don't worry you have answered my question thank you

this piece has so much being translated to the viewer: suffering, injustce, such grief...it is conveyed really very well through that gentleman's eyes-- very good.

its probably one of the most haunting pictures your could ever draw, the childs eyes are always stuck with me and its a massive shock to think someone so young would be put through that. Am glad I could kind of do the image justice in my drawing of it.

amazing. up close the shading is so even. what grade of pencils do u use?
π: 0 β©: 1
nuttyfool In reply to Bethelia [2008-04-20 19:28:24 +0000 UTC]
lols for "Fin : D" I used a HB mechanical pencil, and that includes others. Recently I have been using 4B which I recon gives a very different image and using a slightly different style of shading
Thank you for visiting, commenting and taking an intrest it is greatly appreciated
