Description
A sketch of a world war one poet, adapted from a photo found in a "war through the ages" book.I was hoping to put my grandads regimental pin in the hat, and I feel I have kind of done that, though it isn't too visible on this copy, he fought in the Durham Light Infantry.
drawn using 4B so it does look alot darker than this in reality. its about A4 in size.
Hope you like it

Great Work, both my grandfathers fought in the 2nd World War, one with the Desert Rats in Egypt and Libya and the other in the RAF during the battle for Malta. This work brings out a solitary moment of peace in an otherwise living hell of the trenches.
Well done,
Paul

Great pic man! I love the feel of it, looks just as at home in a studio as it would in a sketchbook in the trenches! Were you going for any particular individual? I've got a whole book here of Brit poets from the trenches, Brook Owen Sassoon Rosenberg etc... Again, very cool!

wow, you have a really nice sense of detail! damn...I really like to watch artists who can pull off to almost make drawings look like photos. It makes me want to practice more ^_^

lmao thank you
I was very happy with this piece, even though it took me ages to draw it. Lols it is so problematic getting so many different textures with one pencil, but am very glad it came out ok, and that people are enjoying it
Thank you for your kind comments and support
