Here is an update on the progress of the Anzu sculpt. It has been coming along nicely. I have been working so consistently that I haven't had time to take many progress shots.Related content

Yeah, it does look a bit ducky from that angle. Though it is way deeper than a duck bill. I was lucky to get some great photos of several views that cant be found on google searches of the skull so I was able to get a pretty good likeness. I probably wont get anywhere on the head for some time. I still have a lot more to flesh out.

Yes it does, I made some nice progress on one of the feet today. I feel pretty good about it. I won't be able to work on it again till Wednesday, as I have some work obligations. I hate stopping when I get into a flow.

Man I know! I was struggled so much with the Spinosaurus head shape, I get ready to add foam to it and it's dark so I head to the house..I think about it all night then today it was 22 degrees..no heat in the shop so I have to stay inside and work on other things.. :/

Nah, I've done the real feather thing before on the Velociraptor. It is kind of a mess, and really wouldn't work for this scale. I am definitely going to sculpt the feathers on this, as I plan to mold and cast it. I do like the real feathers, but it is something I am going to avoid except under certain circumstances i.e. I get a request or the like. If done well it works, but I have been told they can look a bit like they are tarred and feathered haha.
