Description THE SEQUEL.

...Actually, I was just looking at the version of this pic I had uploaded with text, and although the saying fits the piece (in my opinion, anyway) the text itself does not. So, I cut it out, and now we have this. Much simpler, and, I think, a much better composition without all that stupid text XD

Man, this pic took forever to do, I don't think I'll ever spend that much time on a drawing ever again! lol

So cute...and nice bit about Shigeru Miyamoto as a kid. Kidde adventueres are so fun. ^_^ I remember reading about how the concept "Garden in a drawer" for overview look of Zelda.. Old style rocks. Great coloring and lighting.

That's cool. I've always liked the original design of Link from the first two games the best. But not many people today seem to want to draw him like that anymore. =< I miss him having a big, round nose, swooshy morning/hat hair and little arms and legs.

:3 Thanks! I love to draw him like this or like Wind Waker, for some reason, but I would love the ability to draw him OoT-style, too...

I bet that you could draw Link in any style that you would want to. He may be more detailed as adult Link in OoT, but it's not that much of a difference from the other versions and you have your art skills intact, you can do it!
But I would rather see this version more than the OoT one, personally. xD Oh yah, and I miss Link's brunette hair, too. =<

XD Yeah!! Although the version from the cartoon show was a tad odd XD

Well, I could probably draw Link in OoT style, but poses and anatamy is soooo much easier on the more cartooney Links Well, all characters, I guess, not just Link XD

Yah, that old cartoon Link was a bit nutty. xD But I liked him anyway, even tho Zelda would save his sorry bum on more than a few occasions. It was LINK. ANIMATED! I can't NOT like that, unless he was to turn out to be totally stupid and annoying, which some folks probably would think of him because of his catch phrase. xD

If you ever do decide to give the other style of drawing Linkles a try, just remember the title of this picture, you can do it!

Well, this pic is sort of what I think of when I remember a story about Shigeru Miyamoto as a kid. When he was younger, he used to wander around in the woods near his house, and one day he found a cave. He kept coming back every once in a while, but he never got the courage to go in. Finally, he took a home-made lantern with him, and he summoned all of his courage, and went inside. He says it's a fond memory because he was able to face his fears. Most of Miyamoto's forest wanderings inspired things in his Zelda series, in fact, all of Zelda is based on the fact that one day, he got lost and found a pond. For some reason, I think that is the coolest thing ever XD But now I'm rambling...

SleepyVoodle In reply to Nyaasu [2005-11-22 07:37:36 +0000 UTC]

Nothing wrong with rambling. ^_^

It's fun to hear about background stories, especially about Zelda.
That is a terrific story too, the fact that he got lost, found a pond and then made Zelda.
It doesn't make a whole lot of sence but it's still great!

K, nice to chat with you, or ramle, see ya round.

Nyaasu In reply to SleepyVoodle [2005-11-22 12:20:06 +0000 UTC]

LOL, well, he liked the feeling of "discovery" he got when he found this big old pond out in the middle of nowhere, and he wanted to recreate that feling in a game, and there we have Zelda :3

SleepyVoodle In reply to Nyaasu [2005-11-22 12:32:51 +0000 UTC]

Ah~ I understand.
And it worked! He made my favourite game's ever!
Yay for ponds!

I'm working on an old-school mario kinda picture next, of a very obscure character who I happen to love XD Hopefully I'll have it up tomorrow or the day after :3

Hmmm...this picture brings back memories of the older Zelda games. A simpler, less stylish Link who could only carry one or two items at a time. And he still got the job done! ^_^

Very nice work. I really like your lighting, as usual.
