Today is EIGHT DAY! 8.8.08! XDSo here are Squall and Rinoa from Final Fantasy VIII!
Your Eight Day festivities should include but are not limited to the following:
Giving hugs
Eating hot dogs
Riding trains (singing about it optional)

I only liked Final Fantasy from I to VII.
After that, it got pretty shatty for me x3

Well, Why should I care too much really? I'm more of a western RPG kind of person :3
You know, with the dungeons and the taverns and the wenches and the "I shallt slay thine dragon! O:<" You know, Lord of the rings kind of stuff x3
JRPG's were good, but after Final Fantasy 7, they got pretty stupid :/
Well... I never really liked Kingdom Hearts too much, but it's not so bad ^-^;

I don't know -- I think a big problem is that Square is losing a lot of the team members that originally made Final Fantasy so special.
Haha, at first I didn't know what you meant by "Western RPG", but I get ya now. Dragon Quest is a good inbetween game, I think. It's not totally western, but it's not totally Japanese-feeling, either. xD I love DQ!
One thing that irks me about most JRPGs is that the characters always kind of fall into a generic category -- they are all characters I've seen before, in different bodies, pretty much. xD
Kingdom Hearts is OK -- but I would have been happy enough if it only had one game. xD

I dunno, I never liked Dragon Strike
I was more into WRPG games (This includes Sci Fi) like Ultima, Elder Scrolls, System Shock, Mass Effect, and anything in those categories :3
Dragon Quest just doesn't appeal to me, and to be honest, it kinda looks like a medieval copy of Mass Effect o3o
Then again they are licensed by the dreaded monster that is "Electronic Arts" x3

Ok -- well Dragon Quest has nothing to do with EA, which is why I'm confused o.0
The only think I can think of is that for a VERY brief time, Square and EA joined together, but at that time, Square and Enix were still separated, and Enix is who makes Dragon Quest, not Square OR EA. xD

It kinda does x3 Dragon Knights (I keep mixing up the name intentionally XD Shows that I'm not too fond of it 
It doesn't surprise me that a company whose only real talent focus is on sports games (And those suck too) doesn't make any other kind of game, but instead just license other companies, pressuring them into making games on a very VERY short deadline, forcing said companies to shut down or just become money-grubbing greedy bastards, Bioware specifically. Doing so they ruined plenty of good game franchises

Battlefield 3 is a good game, And it's multiplayer gameplay is pretty good, but how they run their servers is incompetent and they're not trying to fix it. I have to spend hours trying to get in a server when really I should be able to just put the cd in, go to multiplayer, squad up, and play the game. but no, they want people like me to wait a whole week to play because their server is down. I don't wanna pay over 60 to 70 bucks just to play a game that works when it feels like it.
But that's just my opinion

Well, I don't play D&D but I watch a D&D group have sessions at this comic book store, and it looks like a lot of fun and I'd like to play it ^_^
But as you know, D&D is a WRPG :3
But then again there's stuff like Hawk The Slayer, Krull, Conan The Barbarian, even The Lord Of The Rings O:
JRPGs are just a turn off for me nowadays cause they use the same characters, They're always either super optimistic or ditzy or they're just really angsty and emo. Same thing goes for japanese fighter games. I'm not gonna talk about Tekken: Blood Vengeance though cause it's just awful >o<
sometimes the same weapons, (Ultima weapon, giant buster blades, and weird looking ninja weapons that are made for looks and wouldn't actually do well in a fight. even the same plot! You know, bad guy wants to destroy everything so people won't suffer anymore, and sometimes no reason at all! D:<
WRPGs are usually more creative and well told, and they're very easy to immerse yourself in ^-^
They're very realistic and at the same time they're very incredible in terms of fantasy. JRPGs are just fantasy, and some are good (Final Fantasy 1 to 7, Legend Of Zelda OOC and MM,) But most of them to me, Especially ones nowadays, they're just the same goddamn story basically only sometimes they're done crazier, and I find that kind of dumb :3

I can see what you mean though, about the WRPGs. Japan makes beautiful stories, but rarely are they believable or very deep (as far as a universe goes), and in modern games, with the exception of maybe some plot twists, they are all very much the same.
