my first oil painting!!
took about five weeks, referenced from 6 photographs I found here and there.....This is I guess your typical 'endangered species' statement. It's a king cheetah, which is just a genetic mutation of a regular spotted cheetah....adds to the rarity issue.
Man. I want to go deeper into this explanation, but my brain has left me completely.
I'm proud of this one: I actually finished on time and it looks pretty cool. Yay! I've been disappointed with my art for so long and this is a nice change.
title is from a poem by Edmund Waller(?) called 'Go, Lovely Rose'....that was set to music....Whitacre, of course...not that any of that has anything to do with the actual content of the painting....

nah....not really, I had to play with the levels in hoboshop a little to get the glare from the camera flash off...and i made the flames slightly less yellowy. but that's it.
