What I was working on before I was so rudely interrupted by MY TABLET DYING. D<Since I have a huge lineup of commissions that come before this, this puppy probably won't be finished for quite awhile, so I figured I'd upload it now. Plan on painting it realistically, since I need practice drawing people.
Also, I'm bored.

I actually like this more than the finished one (which is amazing by the way) but this one, the folds of the fabric is more believable.

I LOVE the style of her clothing. You've really managed to incorporate/expand upon Water Tribe fashion in a cool way. There aren't many artists that can do that with an existing style.

I have this rule about not faving WIPs, but this is really cool. I especially like the position of her hands. It's very natural in a realistic sense, but few artists use the pose.
What's cool is that this even works, artistically, if you're like me and have never watched Avatar.

I actually really appreciate that; I know most comments/faves I receive on my Avatar fanart is given by fans of the series, so it means a lot to me when people who've never seen it like it, as well. *cling* Sankuuu. ;;
Also, yes, I'm unnaturally happy with her hands. XD I love hands so much, but I'm so weak at drawing them in general that I get super thrilled when they don't look like total crap. *cough.*

You have reason to be happy with them. What I really like is that you used such a "real" pose for them. I've seen that pose so rarely. And it does an excellent job of showing off how good the hands themselves are, not to mention showing off how good the general anatomy is, as that doesn't work if the arm length and shoulders aren't right.
Note, I can't draw realistically at all, or even figuratively well enough to let people see it, but I do actually understand anatomy and drawing. So it really trips my trigger to see it done well.

Ok be it my culture maybe, but the two cultures standing together is amazing I also love you did a realistic version of avatar. Also very close, some do more realistic versions which while good can be a little of from former detail. Though you have this media down pat. Stunning work.

I know, right?! I have this major thing for cross-ethnic pairing; it's just so aesthetically appealing to me. XD I probably accentuated Katara's "darkness" a bit too much, but I just couldn't help myself.

Yep, they're gonna go away; I agree they're really distracting/fugly right now. XD All the lines are, actually; they're just in there to function as notes when I start shading. I tend to forget things otherwise. e.e;

Oh, I totally do the same thing with 95% of my drawings! I like working in black and white and then adding the colour over it in multiply/overlay layers; it makes it so much easier/cleaner, you know? >> Especially with stuff that has complicated markings/patterns. XD
