I didn't want to not bring a sjörå with me to the market/exhibition so I mounted this sjörå on a wooden plate to be hung on the wall instead, since I didn't have time to finish the lantern set-up!
Come to a cozy christmas market and cryptozological exhibition this sat-sun at Wira Bruk, Sweden! Gonna be cool.
I will have some pieces in the exhibition and also sell stuff at the market.
Hopefully I will get some cool pictures of it all to show you!

THE SJÖRÅ
A sjörå is a female water creature in Scandinavian folklore.
Sjö=lake. Rå/rådare=a mythological being that is a keeper or warden of a particular location or landform, like lakes, forests or mountains.
This rå is natures warden of the lake/s that's within her domain. She is a shapeshifter and can take the form of for example an abborre or gädda .
I have sculpted this using sculpey clay (those scales took forever! xD), molded it with silicone and cast it using resin.
I've then painted it by hand, with inspiration from the Swedish perch fish (abborre), using acrylic colours and given it a glossy protective finish.
She is mounted onto a wooden plate and has a sign that reads: "Sjörå, Exempl. nr.1, Juli-62".
