This is a mask I made for the medieval market in Visby Gotland. It's made with a sort of papier maché and wool. And some paint. It has leather straps with a little buckle in the back.

Tried google but it just brought up nothing but balls of knitting wool.

Try searching for raw sheep wool or sheepskin.

Tried raw sheep wool too and that didn't get the results I want either, but I never thought about typing in sheepskin, I try that. Thanks. ^^

Jag försöker för tillfället fördjupa mig lite i papier mache. Vet du hur det är med vattenresistenta alternativ av det? Vad för papper brukar du använda? Har massor av frågor så tog dom två mest kritiska xD

Halloj! Hur menas med vattenresistenta? Den pappersmassan jag använt blir riktigt hård och om man också lackar den efteråt så skulle jag tro att den klarar sig ganska bra mot väta. Då har jag använt vanligt tidningspapper, har både trälim och potatismjöl i också.

Åhh tack för informationen! Tja jag vet inte, jag har faktist aldrig gjort egen papier maché och hade hört rykten att det kunde falla sönder av vatten. Men det är ju logiskt, lack eller färg bör ju lösa den problematiken ^^

Hehe. Its made with a sort of papier maché/paper clay plus wool and paint. Aaand thats it.

Yes I made a mold with clay (plastelina) and built the papier maché on top of that.

That is so awesome ...and a little bit creepy. I certainly would not want to run into anyone wearing this in the dark. Does it have any eye holes at all amongst that black?
