A bunch of pictures of how I made the sole for the wool shoes, cause someone asked me

I made a crooked (dont know what word to use here ) cut into the damned thick leather so that the seam wont be visible when its done and its hammered down, also wont tear at the seam when the shoes are used. As you can see at the bottom image.

This is ingenious. And another word would be a "diagonal" cut. How did you make sure it wasn't cut too deep?

Yees diagonal might be more correct ^^ Hmm it was quite a while ago I made these, but I believe I just went with my guts, so to speak

What you did is called a channel in English, the verb is to gouge.
