Description
Ultra Fractal 3.05One of two versions that I managed to render of this one. The full view is still less than half of its original render, but seeing it that large is rather...overwhelming. I might post the original pending request. This is probably my most favorite fractal, so comments would be very much appreciated.
I posted another version of this which is much simpler but colored a lot differently. It can be found here: [link]
Full view for details please!! (I promise you won't be disappointed

This is really awesome. I've seen several versions of this type of fractal, and done some myself, but yours is the best of its kind.

This is my very favourite picture
I'm using it as a desktop.
I love the colours in the trunk, the swirls and branches as patterns

That's insanely cool. It reminds me somehow of mushrooms.

I totally dig it!
I personally prefer this colouring though...it makes the texture variations stand out more.

Try finding some interesting formulas and coloring algorithms. Layering also helps out a lot

Thanks a lot! It's really rewarding to see someone who isn't accustomed to fractals enjoy them.

At first seems so simple, then the large version shows the delicate texture. Beautiful work.

As well as the distinctive Gothic arch and branching structures, the enclosed wicker-like objects recall tribal shields. Size was so important here - the detail that it reveals is amazing. I've not done anything with Mandelbrot-type fractals for some time now, but this has revived my interest. I don't have UF but I did update my ChaosPro (which can read UF formulae) database and found the formula. If I can ever master the colouring as on this, I'd be a happy bunny

Yeah, this formula was lots of fun to work with, especially because of all the detail that you can get from it. It was hard to get the coloring the way I wanted to at first, but after some time you get the hang of it and change gradients accordingly. Bunches of layers were actually black and white. I'm glad that you're interest has been revived though! I am a personal fan of the Mandelbrot formulas

The shape was actually part of the formula I used. After that, it was lots and lots of layers.

Looks quite nice. Reminds me a lot of my Growth and Undergrowth images. I know the tree shape is common in fractals but that combined with the framing, titling, textures, and view, makes it look a lot like mine. I know you didn't take it, I'm just saying. Those shapes are fun to work with though, aren't they?

To this I must give my loudest applause. Not only does it look more like stone-carved gothic architecture than a tree to me, but it is also beautifully rendered in color and focus. You've done it again, you.

It does look a tree, but I also thought it belonged in a kind of gothic setting considering the darkness and deep outlining.
