Everything was black, the light seeped through to Acauldrus's vision. Everything was a hazy blur for a couple of seconds, then as she regained her sight she noticed Xyr was sitting on the side of the bed, the only differences were that she wore a half-crown on her head and was noticeably massive compared to the underspawn she last saw before the blackout. Xyr was wide-eyed and happy, an occurrence that should have destroyed reality itself.

"Thank Parachk you're alive Acauldrus! I thought you weren't going to make it! You do not know how many gallons of madman's juice I've drank because of being so nervous about you!" Xyr smiled as her massive body jiggled and swayed with grace, consuming half of the bed with her gelatinous mass. Acauldrus got up, she felt no pain to her amazement, then looked down to see blue lumps on her stomach and on her tentacles.

"Urghhh...that are these things?"

"They're like bandages, they'll help patch you up for the next few days."

"How long has it been?"

"It's been about two days, Tytan and...father are dead. Bloodspire Peak exploded because Tytan died, at least according to the brainpriests. The Malecendum is safe and secure and now begins the healing process of the Hive Fortress."

"I'm sorry about your father." Acauldrus stood up wearily, feeling a rush of blood flow through her entire body as she slowly gained composure.

"You shouldn't be, he shouldn't have done it the way he did. It's funny isn't it? The father I hated with such a passion, the underspawn I tried to cut all emotional attachment to, yet when he died I still felt something for him."

"I suppose it is a little funny, so what happens now?"

"The remaining lieutenants and some brainpriests set up a council yesterday to fill in the gap while the fortress heals up, now I'm the head of that council and consequently lord of all Underrealm since I was the one holding the blade that killed Tytan."

"Chemist no longer."

"Yes indeed, so about that deal we made many days ago?"

"I will uphold my end of the the deal make no mistake, but since you won't be in my employment as of now on Midrealm..."

"What are you saying?"

"I mean, when you're not busy doing empress stuff-what I mean to say is would you like some kind of residence on Midrealm?"

"Really, after all that's happened?"

"Of course, I have a lot of connections up in Midrealm." Acauldrus smiled a warm smile towards Xyr. She then felt an onslaught of plump mass come upon her body as Xyr hugged her tightly.

"Yes of course my dear friend!" Xyr rarely shed a single tear from her eye but she did as she continued the hugging, Acauldrus returned the hug back as she wrapped her arms around her body. Acauldrus opened up a cosmic red portal behind her as she let go.

"Well, I have sisters to attend to. When you're not busy come over to my place in Midrealm, we'll discuss the plans for your residence and all that." Acauldrus stepped into the portal and disappeared from Xyr's sight. Xyr smiled a gruesome smile, just like her father.

"I sure will..."

This has been such a wonderful thing to do, I've drawn things I couldn't have possibly dreamt of drawing, and I'm glad that you guys decided to stick around for it!
