Olive Groblik is hard working goblin mechanic who does small jobs throughout the city of Greenwitch Vale, any problem whether it be practical or supernatural she’s got it covered! As a young goblin she had a knack for fixing things, but after a failed attempt at archaeology she adopted the life of a mechanic. She is one of Aderyn's closest friends, as they both attended the same college together, and gradually became a friend to her daughters as well.

Olive Groblik lives in a goblin town situated under a great bridge that connects Greenwitch Vale with its neighbour city, Stoker Enclave, a walled community entirely populated by vampires. One of her favourite past times is coming back from work and making a gross combination of desserts to shove into her gob, which is the main reason why her "lower section" is so big. Another favourite past time is making mechanical beings out of any scrap metal she can find for the benefit of her town.

The key energy that powers the land of Greenwitch Vale is poltergeist energy, which was discovered when a single poltergeist ended up trapped in a generator that powered a witch's house for 50 years straight. As such Greenwitch Vale has areas known as "poltergeist farms" or "ghost farms" dedicated to milking the energy out of countless spectral beings, the beings are rounded up and placed within towering structures that drain their immense energy until they eventually disappear. These places are beautiful to witness but they are also dangerous, especially in the event of a leak which can result in harm or death of workers from the escaped poltergeists.

Olive Groblik loves these places as not only are they exciting for her to handle, they also pay well for her lifestyle and hobbies.
