Artists struggle everyday, from artistic frustration to public and social problems. Every now and then, an artist mind cracks, giving up and frail their arms in frustration. A lot of artists get frustrated do to competition with other artists, other artists who get jobs and popularity. They struggle, we struggle. We struggle to survive the cruel world by trying to earn money through our art and talents. It is a very competitive field where only a very few artists out of a thousands of others are chosen or hired to do jobs that other artists would love to do.We have to understand that we are not alone when we give up. There will always be fans and friends who will help us gather ourselves together so we may continue to draw and inspire. They remind us that we should never give up and continue to draw for our pleasure and for others.

I've always wanted to get better at drawing. But whenever I sit down and actually try, I stop and walk away because I see how bad I am.

I love this piece.. I love what your wrote. But I disagree. To those with fans(as you mention in your comments) then yes there will always be someone. But not everyone has those adoring fans. Or friends for that matter :-/ Lovely piece, but I disagree with it.

I couldn'tve stumbled across this at a more appropriate time. Okay not exactly artist related but I've had a really rubbish time with a big university project recently and it just perfectly sums up how I'm feeling right now. And yeah, that it isn't the end of the world. Beautiful sentiment and beautiful illustration. Thank you

I'm glad that you see that there isn't a loss to all hope when it comes to hitting a wall. I'm sure that many of us have run into it unexpectedly, and I'm sorry for those of you who feel as if you're less fortunate in these, but there are people there that will help us through that tough time. As always, fantastic work, and I would love to see more of what you've got.^^

So very true. Currently I've just discovered I've been backstabbed by a former friend, so this hits home in all manner of the word. You described what the majority of my real friends are saying and doing everyday to keep me walking proud, and that of my soulmate who takes every joy in making me feel on top of the world.

Aw, this is a light in the dark for every artist who gets down. ^^
It's really bad when the artists who get those jobs and popularity look down on us too, and I know of at least one. That's why it's so important to remember our roots if we ever do get popular, remember where we started from and try to remain humble.

aww man i really needed this tonight.my girl friend and my mom are my main support and ispiration, not just for art but for everything i do. being literally half way across the world sometimes i miss them both so badly it hurts, and nothing comes out right. tonight is no exception, so thank you for this much needed lift to my spirits.
