i have some black nail polish that really isn't very good, though idid get it at a halloween store, so i guess i shouldn't be too disapointed, i just happen to be very proud of my nails, their good nails, people have asked me before if their real! thats how long i have my nails grown out!

Wow. I thought that the longer they grew the softer and more delicate they become.

um, you realize the the stuff at the ends would only be didfferent from the stuff at the bottom of the nails if you eat different stuff during the time the nails grow, if your having issue with your nails i suggest eating jello, because jello contains gelatin which is good for nails. and now i want to tell you about why i grow out my nails, personally i think its a cute story,
when i was in preschool my best friend got some glitter stuck to her shoe, and i was trying to help her get it off but my nails wheren't long enough, so after that i decided to grow out my nails some and after that i wound up deciding that i liked having long nails

My nails have always been rather soft I guess. *shrug* Normally they don't get broken that often, and I keep them rather short, so yeah.
Can't have long nails. I can't type with long nails, or play the piano with proper positioning (supposed to keep your wrists up, but that's extremely difficult with long nails, not to mention the clicking). If other people can get used to/work with long nails, I say booyah, more power to them. I can't.

when i type in class i have actally gotten complaint before (just two times though) about the clicking noise i make (and i do make an effort to be more quite when they ask me too), i can't type the normal way even if i wanted to, i got my dads long fingers and my laptop has this tiny little key board, i can't get all my fingers into plase without cramping up my hands! XD so i just rest my palms to the sides of the keyboard and type looking at the key board instead of the screen, i think my brother called it a pecking style or something like that once, he said it was slow, but i think i type pretty fast, i mean seriosly, i have typed two pg papers within an hr before, though i admit to spelling mistakes cause by hitting the wrong buttons, youed think i wouldn't have that problem sinse i'm looking at the key board when i type...

LOL! I have a friend who is an English teacher, and she can type 52 words per minute with three fingers (two fingers and one thumb really) on each hand.

i'm starting to think i have some sort of black thumb for rodents, my other gerbil died 9 months ago, and before that there were my rabbits buttercup and SooLoo, and i did sorta kill my brothers rat when i was little, i didn't realize back then that it was bad to pull on suzies tail, she got a tail infection and died, then there was my lizard rex, couple other lizards, a frog (friend), a tadpole (abode), praying mantis (ophelia), catipilar (bessy), cicada(mister), baby bird (brownie), toad (warts), the cat we had to get put to sleep (panther), the cat that ran away (tabitha), tarantula (harry/harriet, never did figure out if it was a boy or a girl), click bug (clicky)pet rock (roxie, i lost it), imagenary dog (rosie, again lost it), a handful of skinks and spring peepers, a really big grasshopper and i plant i had since preschool, seriosly though, that plant lasted me from preschool to around when i turned 13, i'm thinking i'll try my luck with a chinchila next.... i'm forgeting someone, pinchy! a crawfish we got from H-E-B, he didn't last very long...

Honey, insects don't normally last all that long anyways. Everything has to die at some point. Don't feel too badly about those. The spider needs to die anyways...I don't really mean that, but I hate spiders... The fact that you remember their names says that you cared about them. Isn't that what matters?

ya, i know they don't, though tranantulas actally have a fair life span, i can't remember the number, but it was highr than most would expect, and the females live longer than the males. little bit of spider trivia for you there, i geberaly try to read up on a critter when i decide to get one as a pet, and ya, you have a good point

not at all, i got three new guppys yesterday, so i can get some diversity back in the tank, i origanaly had 4 guppys i got them nearly 10 years ago, i'm pretty sure only one of my females from back then gave birth, that sounds kinda weird considering these are guppys, but the tank was sorta going crazy back then, it looked sorta like cotton candy... anyways, the females where jellybeans and noodles (guess which one was the momma) and i can only remember the name of one of the males, spot, he was so pretty, i should draw a picture of him, anyways back on topic, due to having the same guppys for ten years (not really the same ones, difeerent genreations) all my guppys look the same, so i got some nice really different ones

Nice tutorial. Some of those pointers on proportioning I had never heard before, like the finger segments being 2/3 the size of the one below it. Maybe I'll practice drawing some hands tonight...

Yay, another tutorial! Just a few notes, though...
You have a bit of a typo in the last direction under "The Fan". You spelled "sape" instead of "shape.
Also, I'm not so sure how your fingers are proportioned, but my knuckle segments are almost dead-on perfectly even. My whole finger is divided up nicely into thirds. Wouldn't combining the top two segments make it look kinda unnatural? I'm not sure, I may have to try this to see...
👍: 0 ⏩: 1
Obi-quiet In reply to mormongirlbyu [2008-11-12 09:57:38 +0000 UTC]
Then you couldn't curl your hand. Make a fist. If you see a spiral shape, it's 2/3's size. I'm actually going to do a second part to this on fists and such.
If you don't combine the two segments at the top, it makes it look like the hand is straining or trying to grip something. That is only from a distance, though. The combining the top two segments thing is a shortcut. Always makes my hands look better.

^^ For the few times I attempt to draw, your tutorials so far have been helpful. Hands, actually, don't give me too much trouble merely because my drawings are far away enough that it's really easy to just draw vague wedge shapes and have it still look just fine. XD Either that or the hands go into pockets or behind them or something.
D= Obi, you know what I think would be cool would be a clothing tutorial of some sort. Even just basic shirt and pants, I have troubles with drawing natural wrinkles in fabric that make them look less like iron-on cardboard clothing, without making the clothing look like it spent way too long crumpled in a ball on a bedroom floor somewhere. XD

Obi-quiet In reply to Daricio [2008-11-12 10:12:14 +0000 UTC]
I was thinking of doing one of those! Thing is...normally I fake my clothing. Don't know if I'd be able to do well at it...but hey. Kind of working up my courage, you know? I wish I could make clothing look more rumpled and less crisp sometimes.
Did you know, hiding hands is a dead give away to just about anyone who draws about an amateur. Even if it doesn't look all that great, keep drawing them, and you'll get them down. I just want to help people out. Wish I could have found a decent tutorial like this somewhere when I was younger. *sigh*
