Description
I was inspired by this piece to try a similar lighting scheme. Then I went and over-complicated it by indulging my nostalgia for the beach. I can't keep anything simple. Hah. The model is also loosely inspired by someone I got to photograph, once.ΒYou can see him getting ready for Halloween here . Selfie shot here .

Thanks! I really like him. I'm actually (slowly) working on a comic with his 'adventures'. This photoshoot will be one.

A nice-looking fellow and a good, simple scene.

Thank you! I made it complicated with emissive lighting. It's a problem when the surfaces are visible in scene.

Thank you! The tattoo is actually kinda random. It's just there, and I've never used it. So, I figured I'd give it a whirl as a accent.

You're welcome and I think that tattoo really adds to him. Β In my opinion, he'd look too plain without it.

I agree. I'm glad I did the random thing there. Almost a "lucky accident". I kind of want to go back and add some color. That may be too much. I never used that tat before because I thought it was a little plain, itself. What do you think?

I honestly think it looks great just how it is now Β black and white tattoos are more boldly expressive, when colored ones often distract the eyes in many directions - but it would most certainly depend upon the tattoo. Β It's why I have mine in black and white as well, and my future tats.
Β Considering it's a Asian style tattoo that he has, maybe some dark red, greens and yellow might add to it if you're looking to color it. Β It would fit the style very well. Β Asian dragon tats are always colorfully expressive, just as their ancient artworks. Β
( I hope I didn't go into too much detail there xD )
