Description
I decided it was time to come up with a cool, high-quality, self-made 100x100 user icon at long last and this is what I've got so far. He's a work in progress, but I anticipate many versions of him so we might as well start with the most basic model. He blinks, his bubbles float, nothing too fancy.

It's loosely based on what I remember of the "Abomination's" design in "The Only Good Dalek", though my copy is far away and I disagreed with the comic on a couple of levels. (And yes, he also resembles Lars from "Search for the Truth," which belong to Girl-on-the-Moon. But that's what you get from a cloned race. :< )

I might give him some texture (particularly that vent thing they have in the show) and dress up his jar more later. I think it should have feet so he doesn't get dumped over, maybe some blinky doodads. I've been contemplating a scrolling message bar; there are certainly enough frames to support one. He'll definitely get some sweet moves as well. I think I'll start him tapping on the glass and/or waving and see how complicated I'm willing to go. It would be cool to get him really wiggling, but from Leetle Sec I know that's not easy and takes forever. We'll see.

There will definitely be a version of him holding knitting needles, but Ravelry doesn't support moving gifs for avatars, so he probably won't actually knit. Probably...

We're going to have so much fun! 8D /notcreepy

I imagine a Dalek would get bored hanging out with me all the time, so anyone is welcome to put him in their sig or what-have-you and show him new places around the internet. Just don't make any changes or claim he's yours. ^_^
