Pecos. Of all the photos I took of him yesterday, this is my favorite.This photo took Reserve Champion at the Fayette County Fair in September 2006.

This photo was drawn by Ashton Jaksa for the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo - [link] - her drawing was chosen to make the Auction. Only 50 pieces (out of THOUSANDS) are chosen, so this is a BIG honor.
EDIT: I "healed" out the scrapes on his face.
I WILL NOT ALLOW THIS PHOTO TO BE USED IN MANIPULATIONS. Using it as a reference is still okay, just please note me with your finished piece so I can see.

I'm sorry, but no, I will not allow this photo to be used in a manipulation, largely because it was used as a Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo reference and the finished piece went on to the auction, which is a great honor and the HLSR Commission has certain rules.

He was born on August 7, 2005, so he's almost 14 months old.
And actually, yes - I'm in a creative writing class and we have to write 30 pages. I haven't started yet (I really should...), but Pecos is going to be the inspiration for the story.

i love this picture. i have no clue why though. he has such natural beauty in him.. i expecuially like how his abck and the horses behind him are blurry. it makes the eye stand out more.
