An idea sketch for a race I want to get back to fiddling with when I get the chance c:
I neeeed to think of a name! They're temple guardians, but are being referred to as 'baboon dudes' for now though really :U
There’s a long story surrounding their origin that I want to work out more before I begin to explain, but it involves a dream I had a month or so ago that I just recently decided to incorporate into Vyrundal’s human history. As for these guys, I see whole troops of them guarding ancient divine/Orinacrian sites west of the Gairain border. There is a whole long forgotten world I have yet to cover beyond certain areas of the continent, namely because there is a pretty clear reason no one is allowed to trespass into those sacred and otherwise dangerous regions. I guess the Oriancari have figured for the longest time that if they keep the land’s races ignorant and hungry for protection, curiosity and the desire for exploration shouldn’t arise. “Shouldn’t” being the key term here.

They are pretty primitive, or at least the image I have of them is. They encountered the first humans in the early years of Ashtearul’s reign, so my image of them is rather dated. I do know they are intelligent and are on no friendly terms with the east. They fiercely guard their territories, including the ancient sites they inhabit and whatever closed off Allrian ruins lie hidden beneath, but without the desire for resources and collective gain that had lead many races before their time to ruin in the Cataclysm.

I keep telling myself they need to be lighter, thinner, and more lanky, so I am definitely going to keep revisiting this concept and figure out body types. I just see them as something intimidating and right now the soft face right there is killing me.
