Daily Pokémon Doodle #149 - Dragonite! Only 2 away from the end of the Kanto 'dex... It's almost sort of sad to be so near to completing it!Dragonite, though! Love Dragonite. It's got that adorable chunky build and ridiculously small wings for its body - so cute! I've never had one in my team though, even though I really would like to try it out.

body to big head to small bring the nose out a bit and the feet and hands are all wrong but i love the way you create them its kinda cute

It's worth noting that I'm not trying to replicate what a Dragonite looks like in the official artwork - I know canon Dragonite has no 'thumbs' and has a larger, more defined head. I appreciate critique, but please try to tell me in specifics what is wrong and why, rather than telling me something is 'all wrong' because that doesn't tell me what is wrong about it.

im not trying to be a critic sorry. Its just the hands look like they squish into the arms, and the arms are backwards like there cubby upfront insted of in the back of the arm. Like i said im sorry that you think of me as a critic but im just trying to help....

I think you misunderstand - I like critique. Critique is a good thing. If you want to come here and tell me where I went wrong so I can do better, I would really appreciate that.
My point is that the critique you left was vague and didn't take stylistic choices into account. If you'd told me that the underside of the head looks weird because of how the throat/belly scales aren't lined up right, I'd say yep, definitely, that is a mistake I made. Similarly, the claws on the left and right foot are mismatched.
The fact that I drew the arms thick in the forearm and thin in the upper arm was a deliberate choice. I know no arms actually look like that. As for hands squishing into the arms, that was something I kept from Dragonite's official design where there's no visible change where the forearms become the hands/claws.
Basically, feel free to leave critique because I do appreciate critique. But first, make sure you avoid things like saying 'X thing is all wrong' without explaining what is wrong, and when critiquing a stylistic choice, try to give some indication of why that choice doesn't work. That would be a lot more helpful.
I hope that's cleared things up a little bit? I'm just trying to help you help me, if that makes sense.
