Description Steampunk Sinbad
Just a sketch really - the quality is pretty poor - reduced from A3 to A4 on a photocopier for scanning purposes.

Spotted another steampunk style Sinbad [link] and I couldn't resist such a delicious concept so I had a go myself.
Will probably scrap this later and upload a more complete image.

(Any resemblance to Jack Sparrow is purely co-incidental and will be fixed)

Anyway, his 'armour' isn't really armour at all, as Skyships are more heavy duty and heavier than sailing ships they require metal cable rigging rather than rope, so this upper body armour is in fact a rigging harness - it's a clockwork exoskeleton that work on the principle of wires that tense and when they are strained, acting like tendons to tighten grips and increase pulling and pushing strength to enable the sailors to rig by hand. (it also doubles pretty well as armour with its interlocking covering plates, and comes in handy in a fight)
His 'Rat Boots' are also a rigging tool, with a split-sole construction that is spring loaded to ease movement through the 'rat-lines' that connect ships rigging together and allow access to the masts. These soles of these boots are also grooved with gaps that are exactly the width of the rat-line cables allowing the sailor to grip with his feet as well as he would with his hands.
He also carries a 'Lightning Sword' which is essentially a scimitar style sword, but with a shocking surprise - there's an electrical charge stored in the handle that is released through a pull of the trigger on the guard. The handle is insulated so the bearer is safe but anyone unlucky enough to come into metal-to-metal, or skin-to-metal contact will get a nasty shock!
Another offensive weapon is the double-barrelled wrist cannon bolted to his left wrist - its a one-shot last ditch weapon, guaranteed to get you out of a bad situation.

That's about it - stay tuned for more on Sinbad, his ship and his crew.
