The sad part is this happened to me...I tried to back stab an engineer and kept hitting the cloak button...When he turned around and killed me I honest to god didn't know how he knew I was a spy...*goes back to playing soldier*I also hope this comic made sense...I know the cloaking panels are a little weird. to be honest I rushed through this.

Yeah that's why I just use The Cloak and Dagger with Your Eternal Reward and L'Etranger. Actually a good combo for sneaking behind enemy lines but you still gotta stop and let it recharge if you're on 2Fort and you're trying to cross the sewers or the bridge. The loadout gives you a longer cloak and less drain so it's easy to stay invisible if you're good at it. Your Eternal Reward is also great for the loadout because it makes no sound and you can easily fool the other team if you play it smart and backstab when everyone is too distracted or when no one's looking.

As an engine I always shoot someone coming up to my nest. If they bleed, they die. If they don't shoot thier weapons, or change em. They die.

I've been putting up with Spies as engie for so goddamn long, I don't need liquids to sniff them snakes out.

I usually try to sap the sentry first, problem is he keeps repairing it and eventually turns around and kills me.

When an Engineer has a dispenser near him, sap the dispenser then the sentry, he'll most likely try to fix them both, and you move accordingly if he focuses on the dispenser or the sentry.

I actually got that trick to work! Of course, I got blown up by an enemy Demoman seconds later, but at least I got rid of the Engineer, and murdered his toys as well.

Yeah, usually it's best to do that, kill the Engineer, cloak and run if there are any other players around.

Sometimes, it's best to never go invisible as spy, other times you kinda need to hide your face in shame xD

Actually...something like that happened to me yesterday. I was disguised as a BLU soldier and I was about to hide in a corner to re-assess and got gunned down. I was like "Wut...0_0". Then I remembered that I wasn't on BLU. The disorientation happens no matter if I'm a Spy or not.

Heh, this is me as Spy... If I even get two meters beyond the spawn room doors.
Though once I was playing on Badlands (The one with the rocket?) as RED Soldier, just chilling at the third Capture Point, guarding the sentries and shooting rockets at anything that moved. Anyway, I thought I saw one of our Snipers heading back across the bridge- "Must be going for more ammo." thinks I, because I knew a couple were camping near the BLU spawn doors... Until he cloaks in full view of the whole RED team, that is. Suffice to say, I blew him up.
(And the time I ran out of the BLU spawn in Gorge and spotted a Demoman standing stock still near some crates. We stared at each other for a few seconds, then I set him on fire.

I love how people think that I can't see the smoke around them right after they disguise. Then they waltz right in front of my whole team, get mowed down and bitch about it in the chat.

There is a chance you would have gotten away with it if your sniper had a gun or a bow. I would know because I basicly did the same thing and was able to back stab the hard hat but then his guns got me.
