Description Tea with the rabbit today
just the same as every day,
every single day and every single night.

And when he danced and sang
I could not join in merriment
for the ropes that bound did not budge

"Merry Unbirthday!"
He would scream and cry while sipping tea,
and I would laugh while hiding tears.

He said he was late,
for what I know naught,
but he did not leave my nightmare.

“The Queen of Hearts is evil!”
And I agreed blindly. Yet I could not help
but wonder if she was really the evil one.

Dormouse, his friend of valiant honor,
rammed his sword into my thigh
and grinned when I wept and bled.

And my one and only friend sat across,
sipping his tea without a care, mumbling nonsense.
The giant hat upon his head outweighed his judgement.

Tea was scalding as it poured down my throat,
he didn't care as his feet thumped down
pleas to stop fell on deaf cottontail ears.

And when the cry of ‘off with her head!’ sounded
I couldn’t help but be relived and yet I still cried.
For Wonderland was anything but wonderful.

How creative. I instantly got the influence of Alice in Wonderland straight away. I loved how you twisted it to imagination in this delightfully surreal poem.

Yes, i think so. W.C. Fields is even in it.
Granted it isn't Star Wars or anything, but i couldn't take my eyes off it. But i like B-movies too.

Having delved into the metaphysics this:
I am not going to share.
But I will say this, stay away from the tea from now on.

I hated the movie too. I mean, I enjoyed the fancifulness, but it seemed like Alice couldn't catch a break, and everyone was retarded and/or mean. I think I'll like the book much better, though.

I am an avid Alice fan, but something I have noticed about my literature and media consumption is that I love to hear different interpretations, inverse stories, non-canon prequels and such... Gregory Maguire who wrote Wicked is one of my favorite authors at the moment.
This is a chilling and wonderfully written piece, and as much as it sucks that it gave you nightmares and you hated it, I do enjoy seeing someone have such a very very different experience of something I am quite familiar with.
Kudos!

Oh, yes. The Walrus always creeped me out. Those poor Oysters... And I never liked Dweedle Dum and Tweedle Dee either. They just seemed so unnatural. *shudders*

I loathed the talking flowers and the Queen of Hearts. I always thought they were all so vain and cruel, I couldn't see anything else

Squiddy-chan In reply to Oilux [2013-05-19 20:45:18 +0000 UTC]

I tended to find the flowers more annoying than anything. Same with the queen of hearts, actually. They just annoyed me far too much.

Squiddy-chan In reply to Oilux [2013-05-22 18:31:32 +0000 UTC]

Out of all the characters? Definitely Tweedle Dum and Tweedle Dee. I was never overly fond of Bill the Lizard and the Dodo, either. I don't really know why.

Love it ~ I can imagine the whole thing right now, it really captures the creepy factor of Wonderland. I always felt claustrophobic as a kid watching the movie, knowing that she was underground in another world, even though I'm not even claustrophobic. Hmm... it's kinda hard for me to explain but it was an uncomfortable feeling.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Oilux In reply to NinaFoFina [2013-05-13 19:36:21 +0000 UTC]

I understand. When watching, I would completely forget she fell underground though. Now that I think about it, how could there be so much down a simple rabbit hole?
