Specificity:

  • second starship class, after the Ra'kaar-class patrol ships, the Shajaf Tel (Golden Fleet) from own development,

  • second most important space combat unit, after the Ra'shajaf-Class battle carrier, developed exclusively for combat against enemy capital ships

  • like all Shajaf Tel ships, the design of the Ra‘shame-Class is based on a classical watercraft

  • furthermore, like all starship classes of the League, these starships are built in shipyards that are located on rivers and seas and also produce watercraft

  • the Ra'shame-Class was the first starship class with the plasma weapon system known as Ra'Taljafar

  • the use of this weapon could so far only be observed from long-range surveillance stations of the Jaffa Empire, but these scans did not have a high resolution

  • scans show that this weapon system, which the Union calls a Plasma Ship Ram, is a replication of the battleship-calibre Goa'uld staff cannons.

  • the scans also show that the Ra'Taljafar gun is powered directly from the ship's main reactor

  • so the cruisers were practically designed and built around the Ra'Taljafar weapon system

  • the League seems to have difficulties in securing the energy supply for plasma weapons and is therefore unable to develop conventional weapons of this type

  • so they seem to have decided on this weapon design, just turning a whole ship into a staff cannon

  • the analysis of the imperial specialists indicate that the Ra'Taljafar system has limited power despite its enormous size

  • range and rate of fire are obviously severely limited

  • the Empire therefore assumes a rather inferior copy of a staff cannon

  • the Nation, Union and Covenant analysts consulted for the analysis suspect a generally inappropriate weapon design.

  • for example, the weapon appears to have a wide muzzle, but this results in a less stable plasma bolt.

  • also, the weapon does not appear to have a storage crystal in the muzzle, which serves as a capacitor to protect against energy spikes in conventional staff cannon models, so that precisely such energy spikes become possible when the plasma bolt is generated

  • This further reduces range and rate of fire, as the operation of the weapon system, especially the energy supply, must be monitored much more closely

  • because if energy peaks occur in an uncontrolled manner, this can even lead to damage to the weapon, and since the Ra'Taljafar gun is part of the ship's structure itself, the entire ship is also at risk

  • based on these observations, the Ra'shame-class cruisers, like the Ra'ac- and Ra'kaar-class ships, appear to use the Kekar sha Ra torpedo launchers as primary weapons

  • all other weapons seem to meet League standards, so recreations of Al'ie particle weapons are probably also used on the cruisers

  • the Ra'shame-Class seems to be equipped with the largest version of the particle cannons as observed on board the Ra'shajaf-Class battle carrier (see OII report number 280/GDX/8124 on the diplomatic meeting of Talka Kekshaar Roa'ra with Senun'Nai Isis VII. on 5.2.2372)

  • although the Ra'shame-Class is the second oldest class of ship used by the Shajaf Tel, the least is known about this class of ship

  • the Shajaf Tel makes sure that the cruisers are not deployed near the borders, and the cruisers have never been used as escorts for diplomatic meetings.

  • why the League is making such a secret of these ships could not be clarified

  • no known scan indicates unusual technologies or systems, except perhaps the Ra'Taljafar weapon system

  • an accurate assessment of this class of ship is therefore not possible,
as it is not known whether unknown technologies were used to build the cruisers.

  • nevertheless, analysts from the Jaffa Empire and the Union tend to assess the Ra'shame-class cruisers as relatively weak, at most within the universal standards for destroyers

Supplementary analysis based on information gathered after the occupation of the planet Danara in the course of the "Savage Wraith" crisis at the turn of the year 370/371 AJR (2375/2376 AD):

  • Analyses of the battle for Danara confirmed the previous scans and analyses

  • the Ra'Taljafar gun is a replica of Goa'uld staff cannons

  • surprisingly, however, hardly any cruisers were observed damaged by the energy spikes of their own plasma weapon during the battle

  • despite the lack of safety precautions, the crews of the Ra'shame-class cruisers had the weapons pretty well under control

  • this is all the more astonishing as the training of the Shajaf Tel's crews is otherwise obviously deficient

  • nevertheless, the design concept of the Ra'Taljafar weapon system, as suspected, came at the expense of range and rate of fire.

  • the weapon had only been effective at a few hundred metres and could only fire a maximum of six rounds per minute

  • in addition, the battle revealed the same problems as with other ship classes and technologies of the league

  • the Ra'Taljafar weapon system is, to put it precisely, a recreation of Al'kesh cannons from the time when Ra was still very interested in the planet Danara

  • the weapons that served as models were therefore from very ancient times, hopelessly technologically outdated

  • and as an Al'kesh weapon system, the original weapons also belonged rather to the medium weapon systems of the Goa'uld

  • are therefore dangerous from the outset only in large numbers for capital ships

  • as the Ra'shame-Class is larger and heavier than the Ra'ac-Class, the second ship class with Ra'Taljafar cannon, the cruisers are also much less capable of bringing the weapon to the right distance from the enemy

  • the heavy particle weapons of the "Ta Ru" type performed relatively well,

  • however, due to the Shajaf Tel's completely inadequate tactical and strategic approach, this potential threat to the Allied ships was useless

  • the League concentrated far too much on the use of the plasma ship ram and torpedo launchers instead of using the Ta-Ru turrets

  • analyses show that a concentrated attack of all ships with these turrets could have been dangerous even for the imperial flagship

  • with the caveat that the Shajaf Tel's weapons should also have had some effect on the Imperial flagship for a time

  • however, it can be doubted that this would have been possible over a sufficiently long period of time

  • conversations with the Ya Tada and Ya Armeka, the League's two secret service units that had defected to the Jaffa Empire long before the crisis, confirm the suspicion that the League wanted to conceal the Ra'shame-class cruisers from the other powers as much as possible

  • the reason for this, however, was simply the League's war plans and not the use of unusual technologies.

  • the Ra'shame-Class cruiser was seen by the League's rulers as a trump card up their sleeve if the war they dreamed of was to begin

  • therefore the other powers should learn as little as possible about the abilities of the Ra'shame-Class

  • why the Talka Kekshaar did not also make such a secret of the Ra'shajaf-class battle-carriers, but by using the carriers as diplomatic ships made them the most well-known ship of the League for the other powers, the elite warriors explained with the League's prestige thinking

  • battle-carrier-type starships are considered the most prestigious type of ship throughout the Milky Way, and not to represent the Golden League as a power that also possesses such means of power would have been tantamount to humiliation for the League's ruling elite

  • that the League thus made most of the technologies of the Ra'shame class visible to the other powers, because the Ra'shame-Class and the Ra'shajaf-Class were largely identical in construction, ironically also became apparent to the members of Ya Tada and Ya Armeka only during the talks of the allied investigators with the members of these units
