Description For those of you who've been asking what I've been up to lately, the answer is: this, among other things. Numerous other things.

Here's the entire composition, but the photo quality is terrible, as usual [link]

Pretty textures mate. I find myself generally agreeing with what QyJx said, 'cept her eye looks closed to me
I kinda like the mouth how it is. You did a good job with it, and a nose would make a terrible focal point

I like the whole thing. I wish you could get better photo quality D:
It's been a while since I've seen a figure from you

Love the way you pulled this one off. The colours and the blending really work here.

Actually, do you mind if I use this piece as an inspiration for a short story for #devLIT 's monthly contest? [link]

Really nicely done. I like the way she's almost obscured, and her eyes look like they're about to roll back in to her head (to me, anyways), because she's so lost in thought. The yellow is like thoughts, coming in quick succession and buzzing about her, like beads on a short string.

For some critique, all I'd have to say is that her mouth stands out a bit to me, it's not as obscured as the rest of her features; however, that could just be in relation to what you have captured here, and it could very well fit in with the whole rest of the piece. X_X

Beautiful work.

You sound like my professor. He hates that the mouth is so detailed. The way I outline things pisses him off. But, in my defense, it is intended as a focal point ;D I like your interpretation, by the way, even if it's not what I had in mind.

I think one of the best things about art is the varied interpretations you get from different people, even when it's not what you intend. Like how the Mona Lisa is famous for her "mysterious" smile, everyone has a different idea as to what she's smiling about.

Yes, it can be interesting to interpret art for yourself But I'm jaded from studying art theory, haha. I really do find dA awesome in that regard, though...it's a great place for sharing ideas. The people are usually intelligent, yet at the same time they aren't bogged down with all this theoretical crap. It's so refreshing!

Oh, and I think it would be really cool if you used this for the #devLIT thing. (Hurray, efficient replying!)

Took me a few moments to realize there's a face in there! When I first looked at this, I was immediately liking the over-all feel of the composition; the blends, and the texture as a whole... then when I noticed there's a face, it feels like an expression peering outwards through a veil of chaos...
Very good for an abstract representational!

Thank you! The textures were really annoying to do because they involved huge quantities of turpentine :c But yeah, with the face, that's exactly what I was going for
