Here some basic colors I use for my photomanipulations.

At the beginning I always found hard to choose the proper colors, especially when working with color dodge and linear dodge blending modes. So during the months I put together a kind of "basic color palette", which I use as starting point for the colors.

Of course you need to adapt them to your actual picture, but this you can do by opening the Color Picker and moving your marker to the right shade of color.

On the side of the color I also gave some indication on how to use it to create shadows/lights etc.
