I'm not sure what amazes me more... the extreme detail or how the flat surfaces are so extremely smooth O_o
Not a slightest flaw! That's just... O_o *dies*

I had some around here, but my German Shepard Dog ate it. Now she keeps shifting in and out of phase. Very embarassing during walks.

I feel your pain, I bought a cat for my wife's birthday turned out to be a colony of replicators. They kept taking over the appliances. God I'm a geek.

From the tiny ( and incredibly detailed
) to the overly large and unfortunaely, not so detailed [link]

Thanks, that must have been so cool to build one that big, sorry it was damaged. Was it set up for a convention? If so where are they held? I'm a bit of an SG geek.

It was
All three versions (you saw the setup of number two) were built for Mountain-Con. Actually, the first one was built for Costume Con that was held in Ogden, Utah. It was later donated to Mountain-Con I. It was only 8 ft tall. 2 and 3 were the full (?) 22" diameter. 2 was never actually set up at the con. Too much damage. It just wouldn't be able to stand. I learned, though. 3 stood and there was enough head room, as well
I'm still waiting for those "I promise you, I will send my pictures". (I really need to get my own camera
) but here is one of the best shots [link] We used it as the entrance into the Con. Oh, Mountain-Con is a fan based con in Utah. held the 3rd week of September.

ThanksI'm an SG1 geek myself. Sorry it took me a bit to reply but I've been making more stuff. Accually for the next SG line. By the way you have some great illustration work in your gallery. Im pretty worthless at 2D work mine always looks flat I never got the forshortening right so I'm always impressed when I see someone whos got it down.

Is this molded plastic? Or do you start out with polymer clay?
In any case, you achieve an amazing ammount of detail in all of these things that you have done, I especially like this...
I envy your skills and your job for NECA.

I started with plastic and did some wax sculpting on top. The symbols are made of styrene plastic and bondo. And thanks for the compliment I got pretty lucky turning my hobby into my job.
