It's really sad because the actual sequels are inside George Lucas ' mind. It's a bit peculiar why George did what he did, it's bewildering. He should've completed his sequels, why in the world did go and sell his creation, I'll never understand that.

Like I mentioned elsewhere, George Lucas's ex-wife kept him on target with the first trilogy. After she divorced him, she took her best judgement with her, which in retrospect was largely why episodes 3 - 5 worked so well.
Least we forget... Before JJ there was Jar Jar.
Though, at the end of the day, Lucas abandoned his creation... selling out for cold hard cash.

In my opinion JJ-Abrams ruined the potential of having these Star Destroyers in this film by making them way too overpowered: a friggin Death Star laser on a ship that small? No. Just no.

What bothered me was how did he get all the resources and manpower to that secret planet without drawing attention? What did the fleet crews even eat?
