I'm reminded somehow of that time Orson Welles did that War of the Worlds broadcast and it got a bunch of people thinking it was for real.. And there were reports of farmers taking shots at what they thought were Martian fighting-machines, only to find out later that they were water towers because they couldn't see em clearly
