Description
This piece was made primarily for the "Elephants of Kaimere" mini-series by Keenan Taylor for it's Spec Evo setting of "Tales of Kaimere".

A phylogenetical tree showing the taxonomy of the orders, clades, groups, families, lineages and species of Proboscidean and elephants of our real-life, and their presence of Kaimere.

By taking into account all the information officially established in the Lore of "Tales of Kaimere" by Keenan.

Here, the bases, the "roots" of theses animals, and showing the Early members (Moeritherium), the Plesielephantiformes (Deinotherium and cie) and the Elephantimorpha (Modern and Archaic True elephants) lineages.

The phylogenetic tree was made by taking the current view of the proboscidean order disposition and the current knowledge of the different relationship, closely or not related to each others.

Illustrations used here belong and are owned by Keenan Taylor and Cisiopurple.

(Note : this current piece include and mention the Desmotylian as members of the Afrotherian order, in which they are traditionally include, thus a 2024 study cladistic analysis, by Cooper and al. (here : en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Coo… ) have seriously undermined this assignement.

By placing the extinct Anthracobunids and Desmostylians, which are two major groups of putative non-African afrotheres, close to each other within the Laurasiatherianin the order Perissodactylia. You can see the paper of that here : www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/artic…

However, another subsequent study made after it shows that, while Anthracobunids are definite perissodactyls, Desmostylians share the same number of characteristics necessary for either Paneungulata or Perissodactylia, making their former assessment as afrotheres a possibility.

So, for now, the current assignement of Desmotylia, while still uncertain, remain by default at the Afrotheria super-order, making this piece still valid.
And I decide to made my piece following the current view, even with the potential issues which are currently in the process for some groups whithin it).
