Description This piece was made primarily for the "Elephants of Kaimere" mini-series by Keenan Taylor for it's Spec Evo setting of "Tales of Kaimere".

Another piece that I decide to made to show the entire scenario that have occured so numerous time in the past and repeat alike each time about elephants and the way they end up on island and became dwarf species, shrinked and miniatures version sof their mainland homologues.

This time, I decided to made the thing as a comic-like with a touch of comedy with it !

Something very rare that I generally do not often.

When I made paint creation or fanarts, I always prefer to made serious settings and shots of life, like directly taken from the real-life, in the wild.
And put efforts, investments and time on it because I like that much than doing comedic stuff.

But I decided to make an exception for one.

To made a piece both funny to read while remaining educative and understandable for everyone in the same time.

My direct previous piece "A dangerous swimming lesson" (www.deviantart.com/olivierdudo… ) already talked greatly about the topic of elephants on islands, how they do to reach these latter, their bailities to swim with efficiency in the ocean, and what happen to them after reaching the islands and establishing on them.

But this piece was more about the dangers that the Elephants on Kaimere of Keenan Taylor face when they go in water, in a equal level than on Earth, at the opposite of what happen on Earth since there no giant marine predators in recent Cenozoic and Holocene era while Kaimere ocean have a plenty of dangerous swimming carnivores.

Also, I don't speak enough about the important factor that waves of elephants arriving on island did occured when the period was in a Coolling Era, when the sea level was lower than the one we have currently at our Modern Times.

Something that this piece show more clearly.

Because if I almost praise the ability of elephants to swim with ease, and durably on very long distances, they still have limits.

Elephants can and swim go on islands by swimming in the sea between, but they can't remain in water forever.
And cannot go as far as they want too.
At least, the islands on which they could possibly end, for large full mature specimens, must be in a perimeter less or equal to 80 km (50 miles) at maximum the limits far off the coasts. They cannot go farer.

So, they must and actually can reach islands more frequently when the sea level is lower than usual, and when there as such less water distance between the mainland and the islands.

Something I wanted to rectify here, as a educative bonus.

And here, this current piece don't mention Kaimere at all !
In fact, it is completely not link in any way to Tales of Kaimere Anthologies book series, and isn't a Fanart at all for the Lore of this universe.

And as such, can be used by anyone for any setting or presentation of the topic.
Something I find very goo actually !

Whatever, like for my previous piece, I'm very proud of this one and what it can give as educationnal information or simple enjoyement as a quick sketches to read and laught at it.
And the final rendering is nice enought !

Hope that can give smile to some people reading this post ! XD
