Description
"O Frith" thought Hazel, turning his head for a moment to the bright glow in the west, "are you sending us to live among the clouds? If you spoke truly to Fiver, help me to trust him". At this moment he saw Dandelion, who had run well ahead, squatting on an ant-hill clear against the sky. Alarmed he dashed forward."Dandelion, get down!" he said "Why are you sitting up there?"
"Because I can see," replied Dandelion, with a kind of exited joy. "Come and look! You can see the whole world." [...] They were on the top of the down. Perched above the grass, they could see far in every direction. Their surroundings were empty. If anything has been moving they would have seen it immediately: and there the turf ended, the sky began. A man, a fox - even a rabbit - coming over the down would be conspicuous.[...]
The wind ruffled their fur and tugged at the grass, which smelt of thyme and self-heal. The solitude seemed like a release and a blessing. The height, the sky and the distance went to their heads as they skipped in the sunset.
"O Frith on the hills!" cried Dandelion "He must made it for us!"
"He may have made it, but Fiver thought of it for us" answered Hazel. "Wait till we get him up here! Fiver-rah!".

Wow. One of my favourite books when I was little (and not so little)! I haven't read it in many years, perhaps I should.
The rabbit in the sky is a nice touch And I love the velvety tones of grass plains and hills in the background.

I love Watership Down!
And this reminds me of a boat trip last year on which I saw a cloud which was originally shaped like a rabbit, it had even a "hole" where the rabbitΒ΄s eye should be.... but I couldnΒ΄t photograph it, because I didnΒ΄t take my camera with me on the boat- I was afraid that it could drown....

Wow! That is simply beautiful. All the details from the light in the background, the grass in front, the soft fur and the rabbit cloud make it a perfect work. I also love the depht of the perspective. Great job!

Watership Down is one of my favorite movies from my childhood. Need to get hold of the book. Read it once during school. <3
Love the colors and the view. Especially three rabbits.

This is so pretty!!!
I found out I really like bunnies, I think it's my new obsession
I love the rabbit-cloud, very obvious and yet merging perfectly with the other clouds in the sky.
Beautiful

Beautiful as always . I like the sense of depth I get from this painting, it's almost like I'm looking at a real wide grassy field.
I wish I could draw, I know a lot of great book scenes that I'l be happy to draw.

Very pretty. My favorite bits are the insanely smooth ground and mountains, looks almost digital-made.
How long did it take?

Thank you!
I think that all the work took ten hours, the mountains and the field took about four. They look smooth because I used smooth surface paper and applied many pastel layers.

It's cool that you know how long did you work. I never do. When asked, i say 'umm...some hours?'
My own scene will probably be containing Snape cause i'm unoriginal...
