Description Hey! Finally I'm done with version 0.2 of The Interface. First of all, I'd like to apologize for being MIA for a while. I've had
a lot of other stuff to do, but that's a long story, so let's skip right to the good stuff!

The Interface has gone through yet another complete rewrite. This basically means that the code is; more organized, more optimized, easier to edit and generally just better written. In addition, of course, there are some new features!

** File browsing within The Interface:
By using the FileList plugin by Elestel you can now browse through folders. This new feature makes it easy to setup bookmarks and application links. The Lower Green Bar has also been changed to incorporate this new function to act as a complete file browser (with some limitations of course).

** Automated Positioning System:
The Interface will now adjust it's own position based on what screen resolution you have.
The currently supported resolutions are:

- 1900x1200
- 1920x1080
- 1680x1050
- 1440x900
- 1280x800

Wallpapers for these resolutions are of course included.

** New Win Amp controls:
The Lower Blue Bar now has all standard Win Amp functions.
This includes; basic buttons, song title and a duration bar.

** And a lot of small things!

Enjoy!

Best Regards,
~Omardude

So I went into the script folder for the run/recycle/empty scripts and i can run "run" and "recycle" when i try and execute "empty" nothing happens so im guessing that where the problem lies.
Running Win7 64bit

My first guess is that this is a compatibility issue with Windows 7. I'll look into it and see if I can make a variation of the script that works for Windows 7.

ya I couldn't find anything on it so I just got it to work adding

[MeasureBin]

Measurelugin
Plugin=RecycleManager.dll
RecycleType=SIZE
Drives=ALL

and changed
UYSDeleteBang2=!execute ["#CURRENTPATH#scripts\empty.js"]
to
UYSDeleteBang2=!Execute [!RainmeterPluginBang "MeasureBin EmptyBin"]

I got everything working alright, but I have two questions:

1. How do i get the lower green bar to hook up with iTunes?

2. How do I get rid of a few of the white links and replace them with different ones? I can't find them in the edit files

tysm!

Omardude In reply to xxSHMEExxZIMxx [2010-06-17 09:07:58 +0000 UTC]

Glad to hear you like it.

1. If you mean showing your iTunes music files in the lower green bar change the #LGFPath# variable to the parent folder path to those files. If you meant using the lower blue bar as an iTunes controller, this is not yet implemented, but will be available in the next release.

2. "The white links", or "Bookmarks" if you will, can be edited by changing the .lnk files in the "#Skinsfolder#The Interface v0.2\Data\Bookmarks" folder. Adjusting the number of links is simply done by removing some of these files. If you have a desired sort order for your bookmarks, add the prefix "[0x] " (without the quotes), where "x" is a number between 1 and 9 (1 being first, nine being last).

Hey so I'm in absolute love with this, but for whatever reason i just can NOT get it to work for me are there any bugs going on right now with it, or an alternative place to download it?

Are you using the x64 version of Rainmeter? If so, download the correct version here: [link]

DownGoesSpiral In reply to Omardude [2010-06-18 11:25:32 +0000 UTC]

Thanks for the help, tried the proper version and its working now. The only problem I can see is that when I click on some of the buttons, such as: "Deleted Files" or "Command" a .js file opens in notepad and thats it.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Omardude In reply to DownGoesSpiral [2010-06-23 11:27:13 +0000 UTC]

The reason for that is most likely because of how you windows installation handles .js files. Its been a while since I've altered such settings before, but I will look into it and help you out as soon as possible.

I was wondering if I could switch the internet shortcuts into app launchers?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Omardude In reply to LOVEoo [2010-06-07 16:45:56 +0000 UTC]

Of course, just place shortcuts that point to the .exe files you want to launch in the "Bookmarks" folder.

It's not that mate, because it's not my idea to start with.

I didn't release mine, out of respect for Omardude, i could have done the same thing.

It's the fact that you just edited the screenshot and claimed it was a rainmeter skin.

I mean even the second timer on the clock and shortcuts are the same

Your referring to the FileListPlugin.dll? As far as I know it should work with any OS at the moment (although the x64 version is not in the v0.2 release). However, give me a link and I'll take a look.

Hehe, just place the "The Interface v0.2" folder in the "Skins" folder. Then place the "FileListPlugin.dll" in the "Addons" folder. Restart Rainmeter, right click and hover over "Configs" and choose check The Interface.

alright, im getting quite frustrated with this, mostly (i think) because im running vista. i get a "filelistplugin.dll not found" although it is def in my plugins folder, once again i think it may be a vista compatibility problem. I also get a lot of "[bmf1] cannot be bound with [BMF1M]" errors and i get that error with numbers 1-9. same things for [ugf1] and [lgf3]. so whilst this happens, i realize that i have no book marks in white, my top green bar has no app links, my lower green bar has no text however i can click on the buttons, but then nothing happens except for the endless stream of error windows. winamp controls work fine, cpu/ram works fine, and all the shortcuts on the yellow bar as well as hardrive monitoring works fine, clock also works. just like, the left side of the skin, anything requiring bookmarks and shortcuts just dont work. any suggestions?

Try downloading the latest update of the filelistplugin.dll. [link]

o dude, im such an idiot, haha. i tried that, still didnt work. and then i realized theres a 64bit version and a 32 and i was using the 32 when i needed the 64. the reason it confused me is because rainmeter is installed into my 32 bit directory. even though im on a 64bit system, o well, i hope to be using this alot more now. haha.

Hello, I also have a 64bit OS (Windows 7) but it still doesn't work. How did you precisely fixed it? I downloaded the 64bit version but I still receive the same error messages. Any guess? Thanks in advance for your help.
Have a nice day

Once I downloaded the newest version of the 64-bit plugin, I also added the skin found in that zip to the skins folder, and that works.

Thanks a lot for the tip. It now works (it was related to Razor skin where the problem was the same with the filelistplugin.dll but it's only here I could get more details on this issue). It has been fixed now.
Anyway, thanks for your kind help
