Description
My THIRD ATTEMPT at this. WOO.The each uisge is a kind of malevolent water spirit/demon that takes the form of a horse to tempt people to ride it. The rider is actually safe so long as the each uisge is no where near water, but the moment it is near any sort of lake or pond the rider will be stuck fast to its skin and dragged beneath the surface to drown. And then the each uisge will devour the victim except for the liver. Which will just be left floating. I guess it's an OCD thing.
I'm noticing a trend in teeth.

lovely! each uisge live in large saline bodies of water and kelpies live in fresh, moving bodies of water, it is said that non-saline stagnate water kills or repels kelpies and uisge

Yay for obscure folklore! I live for the stuff.
The each uisge looks cool, and its teeth do look rather scary.....Although the image of it trying to drown someone in a tiny puddle came into my mind too. xD

TEETH
Usage of lesser known myths = INSTANT WIN.
though the lighting/designs/expressions/TEETH definitely help :]

Oh my... so, is magi-girl stuck to it now? Or does her armor protect her (or does she have to be on its back)?
Great face on the creature, and good creepy forest.

"The armor! It does nothing!" It's really difficult to create the illusion of something being stuck to something else!
I figure you don't have to be on its back to work. There's one tale involving a kelpie and children where a boy stroked the kelpie on the nose and got his finger stuck. He cuts off his digit and survives the encounter while the other kids do not.
PLUS anything to make the battle more frustrating for the heroine, ho ho ho.

Awesome! I love the theme lately, it's really neat learning about the lesser-known myths and legends.
Be careful though, if you were to draw Popobawa the wrong way it could probably get you banned from DevArt!

Just stab the damn thing and swim away. Oh wait, but it's probably one of those 'mortals can't kill' things. Oh well.
Touche, sir uisge!

I'm glad SOMEBODY knows about these! They're far too often mixed up with kelpies.

I personally find folklore to be at least 3.5% more trustworthy than most other types of information.

After reading your summary, I got the funny image of an each uisage trying to drown its victim in a shallow puddle.

I'm sure it could manage... it seems the most dangerous of water horses.

Though honestly, if I saw a horse coming from out of nowhere, the first thing that would jump to mind wouldn't be "I THINK I'LL TAKE IT FOR A SPIN". But maybe it's the ancient equivalent of a convertable with its door open with a note saying 'take me plz' taped to the hood, so yeah. Though MAN I've ben learning so much about mythological creatures from you! It's awesome man!
Anyway, HOLY BACKGROUND. You realy did a great job with it-the sort of green fogs really give it the feel of a putrid lake/swamp of evil. And I love the dynamic effect of the water-perfectly nails that feel of thrashing around and ACTION. And of course, I just love her face. "Oh maaaaaan, not again."

It's like the kelpie legend... though with the kelpie you can tame it by getting a bridle over it's face... Neat concept. ^_^

"The each uisge (IPA: [ax ËÉŞĘkÉ], literally "water horse") is a Scottish water spirit, called the Aughisky in Ireland. It is similar to the kelpie, but far more dangerous." ~Wikipedia
There's our answer. XD
