Ten years and a loss of heart ago, things might've looked like this.

This is my interpretation of Ansem's six apprentices. From the left, it's Xehanort, Braig, Dilan, Even, Ienzo and Elaeus (Xemnas, Xigbar, Xaldin, Vexen, Zexion and Lexaeus). I got the idea when I doodled a kid on one of my papers and accdentally gave him/her eyeliner, and then suddenly it looked like Xaldin (becaues everyone knows that Xaldin wears heavy black eyeliner). That put the spark in my brain until I'd finished up a character design for everybody. I thought Vexen had the sort of shape that used to be a bishonen, only got too old for it, so I hope I bishied him enough here. I had hoped originally to put more purple in Braig's outfit, but that ended up not working out. *sigh* Also, I hadn't exactly intended for Dilan to look quite as gay as he ended up, but I suppose it doesn't matter.

On a technical note, this was the most complicated, and in my opinion, the best thing I've ever drawn. They were not on the same paper, but I drew each of them at the right size comparable to the others so that they'd all fit together right. I'm very, very proud of my shading job, in all aspects of the picture (hair, skin tone, clothes...). I particularly like Xehanort's sweater, I haven't done stripes well before. On Even's sweater (a point about which I am particularly proud), I textured it so it'd be somewhat like this corded sweater my mom likes to wear. I achieved this by putting a fine-toothed comb behind the paper and shading over it. I think it turned out well, even though things never look as good scanned.

My gel pens are really lame, though. After a few hours, on some of the spots that use them (eyes, fastenings, Braig's necklace and Dilan's bracelet), some of the colors would wear off! So just before every time I had to copy or scan, I'd have to draw them in again, except on Even's eyes (the original color was a bit too bright for me anyway.)

Final note- I don't want to put ideas into anyone's head, but my family insists that I clarify (as they all insist the contrary)- there is NO butt-grabbing going on in this picture! Perspective and layering made things end up looking like that, but they're noooooot!!!!!!! Yes, I like the 2/3 pairing, but there is no butt-grabbing in this picture! *sigh of exasperation* You people and your bawdy minds.....
