Another fascinating take on Malthak. I definitely like that, even with the spider elements removed, he is just so immediately recognizably him; it speaks well to how strongly you've made the character, both at a visual and creative level, that he stands out so clearly here. I also agree with that the lighting effects here are very strong; those deep reds make the mood of the piece very strong and dramatic. Love re-use of his threading the wbs with his fingers too; it not only works as a great bit of background, but also shows how you've kept his fingers so thin and spidery.

I don't think I could ever make this character totally human. He will always be a spider. It just may not always be obvious. ;D

I like how subtle the lighting is here, and the webbing dangling from his hands is a nice touch. Interesting to see how you've rendered him in all these different styles.

I love how fluid his design is, seriously. Like this is one of those characters of yours that I just sort of sit back and admire from afar. Also why do you draw such gorgeous freakin' webs? Seriously. They look all slimy and shiny and perfect. He's such a cutie, in all forms.

I'm happy to hear you like my characters, even from a distance. I'd say he doesn't bite, but...he does.
Start with white or black linework, then pick any color you like, I picked red here but any will do. Use either a soft brush or a gradient tool to spread random bits of that color over the web. Lower the opacity of the layer, 50% or less, depending on how dark the background is. Use a soft, low-opacity eraser to soften the connecting edges up (like near his shoulders). Dunno if you were asking literally, but there is your literal answer anyway.
