Description
Well there's actually a story behind this one... he's the long-time-coming character of a video game that I really want to make. I guess you'd call him an alien, but you come to find out you can't really call him that as things go on.. his species is intelligent, but in an intuitive, spiritual and biological way. In the midst of an interstellar war between vast intellectual and technological powers (i.e. other aliens) his planet is raided for resources and his species annihilated; not without an epic fight, mynd you - they were mostly unprepared for the possibility that their insectoidic technological enemy would cut the massive trees from under their feet.. There was an escape plan however, as a last resort - a single seed of their species (they are biologically more like animate plants than anything else..) was fired into space aboard an almost-as-small capsule, and escaped their dying world and the blockade.

Hundreds of years later, luck would find this small particle of chance careening through the atmosphere of the third planet of a late white to yellow star toward the edge of the galaxy.. your pod finds quick relief and germinates in the humid and warm tropical atmosphere... and slowly your Home Tree takes root, producing at first a single seed leaf, and then a bud, which opens up to reveal you..

You awaken to the sounds of large bird-sounding roars and calls in the distance, the loud chirps of large insects, the damp smell of rich, fertile, mycelia-and-dmt-rich soil and raw PLANT and you know your species has found a new home.

You come to find that this planet is inhabited mostly by large terrestrial reptiles, some massive and reaching for the length of the equally-large trees, and some light and fleet - predatorial and running on two legs. You are an adaptive and chameleonic species, so you can't help but take on some characteristics of your surroundings as time goes on....

Of course you discover that you are not alone here - the war that tore your planet from the sky is ongoing, and the same characters have not been stopped and found their way here too. They have not had so much luck with the resilient ecosystem here though, and have had an especially hard time with the aforementioned predatory bipeds. You are a cunning sort so you instantly smell opportunity..

Oh yeah, the spot in the middle of your chest is for your seed - the staff can retract to seed form and be placed in your chest when you need to go arboreal, hide or ride (yes, I said ride), and can be planted in the ground to activate a console by which you can 'see' a bioenergetic readout basically of all the activity in your area, with range expanding over time. You also acquire the ability to remote view using the aid of animals in various places (who are equally pissed off at the technoaliens), possess, and eventually organize huge herds of predatory and vegetarian dinosaurs (oops, I actually said it..) to raid the fortresses, crush the scout parties, and blow the collective minds of your various enemies. I think it will probably eventually evolve into a real-time strategy that could be playable as such through different angles via multiplayer!

Oh yeah, the whole game will have NOT A LICK of spoken English. I was epically pissed when Lucas decided to replace genuine alien language with silly voices..

If anybody else thinks this game would be awesome and wants to help me get it made, suggest some places I might take it..
