Captain Avantika, master and commander of the Pirate Frig the "Squall Eater", terror of the oceans, and schemer of the tides...now exposed for her treacherous intent towards the Mighty Nein, and Fjord , has been turned on, the Nein are racing to the authorities powerful enough to do something about her before she sets her villainous plot into motion.

Undaunted, the Captain reveals herself to be too clever for them as she catches them in the act of snitching , and attempts to make scurvy out of the lot of them, with the power of the ocean behind her in a raging torrent at their betrayal...

...but even the power of the sea granted to her by Uka'Towa, the immortal banished god to which she sold her soul...is not enough to quell the dispelling blade, and dark, raw power that is Yasha, the Barbarian of Xhorhas...and muscle of the Mighty Nein who now stands between her and her party, fleeing now in one final desperate attempt to right the wrongs done in present and past, before Avantika gets away once again with crimes worse than murder...even in a city of pirates
